This is the recording of a live improvisation performed at Café OTO, London.
It was accompanied by visuals created by Ali Wade.

The Buchla Music Easel froze up at about 8 minutes into the performance so I had to restart it. Unfortunately that meant that none of the machines were synchronised anymore. 
Ultimately that turned out to be a good thing as it forced me to abandon any ideas and plans that I went into the performance with and only react to the environment I was in at that moment.
 Thanks to Fielding and everyone at Café OTO and especially Shaun Crook, their excellent sound engineer for recording the performance.

This is the recording of a totally improvised hardware live performance. Nothing is prepared beforehand. You can hear the music being created and destroyed as it's happening and that was as exciting for me as it is for the audience. 

This is a very risky way to perform. 
As I step up to play I have nothing, I have to create the music there in that moment. The audience is participating in that risk and that adds to the energy and creates a unique atmosphere and sense of excitement. Understanding the technicalities of the machines I'm using is not important. What is important is the energy of music being created right there in that moment. That creates a far deeper connection between myself and the audience than I've ever experience with playing back pre recorded music.

It's a bit rough in places, but you can hear the music being created and destroyed as it's happening and I love that most about performing improvised live sets.
