Train To Yakkyn is the third single from Tom Baker's debut album "Ruled By The Machines".

Stopping all stations on its way through the downtown district, rattling carriages sprint over the city’s mega-rail monolith with a distinct hum. Its passengers watch the chaotic scenes of the new world flicker through the small gaps of the train windows not yet engulfed by graffiti.

Thank you so much for everyones support in the last 12 months!

To celebrate 500 follows on FB, I thought it might be time to let go of the first ever tune I wrote for this project. 

I wrote this track after returning home to Australia in late 2019, landing in one of the worst bushfire seasons we've seen in Aus for a long time. The sky was thick with smoke, day in, day out for what felt like a month.. I remember it having a profound impact on my outlook and mental health at the time, which likely explains why the first techno track I ever tried to write is arguably the darkest and most eerie.. 

Despite this however, the track shifts in the second half, offering a sense of hope and relief. A journey from dark to light. 

Sadly, the project file has been lost on an old computer, meaning I can't touch up the mixdown for this release. But on the plus side - it means this is truly, the first ever track I wrote for Audible Thought.

At the time this was the track that inspired a complete pivot in my music, away from bass music and back to my 4 x 4 roots. 
I owe alot to this track, and it does feel nice to finally set it free. 

Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart for supporting my music and being a part of the journey. 
I hope you like the tune :)

We're back from our extended holiday period and we're proud to present our first release of 2024, this scintillating new EP from the Australian bushtechno weapon, Tom Baker.

The B-Side, 'Weather Patterns' finds Mr. Baker venturing into dark, driving musical territories. With its broody and menacing character, this track acts as the perfect storm to turn a dancefloor inside out. The title track, 'My Mistake', was born from a serendipitous moment in the studio, a happy accident whilst messing around on the tools that have evolved into a sonic masterpiece that is simply extraordinary.

The EP is accompanied by a banging psychedelic techno remix of Weather Patterns by Greenwolve and a smooth progressive take on 'My Mistake' by Human Element. Ultimately, this journey comes to its inevitable ending and is signed out by a bonus track - a 2024 edit of Tom's remix to 'Medusa' by South Punk, infused with newfound energy and vitality.

Facets' "Sonic Ocean" EP on Slovenian label KRI Records deliberately excavates the raw spirit of late ’80s New Beat and EBM for a modern audience. The New York-based producer, also the force behind Samo Records, channels this gritty energy into a contemporary club context with striking precision. His four original compositions rest on a foundation of stripped-down, muscular rhythms and tense, wiry electronics that lock together with industrial purpose. This compelling core work is then amplified by powerful reinterpretations from two distinct voices: the Midas touch of Marcello Giordani and the punishing approach of Broken English Club, resulting in a formidable and complete parcel.

Premiered here, the Alter Ego Mix of the title track by Marcello Giordani is a masterclass in controlled escalation. The Italo Deviance maestro wraps the original's EBM menace in a cloak of psychedelic texture, introducing a relentless, squelching acid line that acts as the track's throbbing nervous system. Around this core, Giordani weaves sharp fragments of Techno and Trance, not as mere decorative elements, but as structural reinforcements that build a palpable sense of anticipation. The calculated intensity of the track is broken by intermittent vocoder passages. The robotic interjections cut through the mix like coded transmissions, offering brief, melodic respites before the driving rhythm reclaims its dominance. It’s a mix that maintains a formidable dancefloor focus while adding layers of cosmic intrigue, proving both functional and fascinating.
