The group transtorms rhythms in to bridges transporting us to the unimaginable. They walk through the caliente Latin America, the mantric Africa, through the moorish gypsy hypnosis, through smoky Jamaica and through the weaty manholes in the equatorial Amazon. The uni­versal algorithms of the dance floor mark each step in this journey: electronic beats, synths, and guitars are mixed in with organic instru­ments and drums. The result is an instrumental music with no lyrics but many accents, without labels, and, above all, without borders. 

The two elements that form Muntchako - Samuel and Macaxeira are ninjas 
in the danceable and intense art. From Jamaican music, rap, and funk guitar riffs comes the knowledge of the multi-instrument player and musical producer Samuel Mota who was a member of the band "Jah Live", played and was musical producer for rapper "GOG" and "Banda Eddie". 
From the experimentations that merge ances­tral percussion with samples arises Macaxeira Acioli's punk performance, having played with bands such as the North American jazz bad boys "Hyp­notic Brass Ensemble" (USA), with "Cabruêra" from Paraíba and "Francisco, El Hombre" from (Mex/Bra).

The sounds and third-world aesthetics are trans­ lated in their own style. With their feet in the vast, plural, and diverse Brazil, and with their curious antennae capturing global urban trends, Munt­chako is the consequence of the sound and politi­cal complexity that is very much alive in Latin America.

The band has already burned down stages in Colombia, Germany, England, and the Netherlands, and has performed dozens of times in the main festi­vals and venues in all 5 regions of Brazil. The easy logistics of a duo allows for light travel wi­thout losing any of the quaIity of the ineendiary performance proposed by Muntchako.

O 'Muntchako' é uma pancada forte no estômago. Dessas que pode ser sentida também dos tímpanos aos pés. É como um soco de uma polegada do Bruce Lee, e também flui como água, sem a menor contenção.

Ë ao mesmo tempo um som macio e áspero, revelando toda a dureza da arma de artes marciais. Mas também é suave e pesado como deve ser todo som recheado de groove. De balanço o 'Muntchako' é cheio. A sonoridade remete à clássicos como Fela Kuti e Santana, mas também aparecem influências mais atuais.

A construção sonora denota certos elementos cinematográficos com um roteiro livremente inspirado nas artes marciais – relacionando também o nome da banda com o cenário dos filmes de luta. A utilização de elementos analógicos, digitais, orgânicos e eletrônicos faz com que o som seja visto como uma entidade mais parecida a um ciborgue.

Formado por Macaxeira Acioli (percussão e samplers), Rodrigo Barata (bateria e samplers) e Samuel Mota (guitarra, synths e programações), o 'Muntchako' apresenta um som de pegada firme e forte como qualquer golpe fatal. Com a grafia incorreta, Acioli afirma que acredita dessa forma apelar ao inconsciente coletivo brasileiro, que já é acostumado com o erro da escrita.

O certo é que o 'Muntchako' apresenta uma forma única de fazer música, onde realmente os fins justificam os meios. Tudo pode, desde a utilização de qualquer ritmo a quaisquer timbres e não existem amarras para a realização de qualquer parada. O 'Muntchako' surfa nesta nova maneira de se produzir e consumir música decolando de forma surpreendente com uma canção ao mesmo tempo hype e vintage.

'Emojubá' é o nome do petardo e trás referências de tudo que esses camaradas produziram até hoje. Acioli trouxe reverências do 'Cabruêra' e 'Hypnotic Brass Ensemble', Barata da banda 'Sistema Criolina' e Samuel do 'Jah Live' e GoG.

Os três formam um trio diferente, que combina muito bem todas as distintas qualidades, unificando o som numa parede sonora, que mal pode ser classificada em qualquer gênero ou estilo. Ouve só, que a cuca fundida é garantida...
