Justin Aulis Long is a sonic sorcerer, urban Homeric poet, and cosmic wanderer that exists within the liminal spaces where light meets dark. Long is the offspring of a gorgon, conceived within a brick and mortar labyrinth while surrounded by the supernatural electronic voices of angelic forces.

While engaging in themes of the uncanny and erotic, Long opens thresholds which lead to psychedelic realms during communal dance gatherings. Applications of sonic alchemy during ritual action generate vibrant forces created through collective effervescence, causing a bubbling over of ecstatic energy leading to rapture. During the rite, incantations are expressed through fusing a swarm of aural fragments composed from diverse temperaments by way of a personal and singular technique.Sacred objects (records), selector’s tools (turntables and mixer), body, spirit, harmonic and discordant voices unify and become one - The Soft Machine.

During a ritual performance, phonic collages are created intuitively on sight, sigils are aurally direct with specific intent, and offerings are bestowed before an alter, all charged by an engine of chaos. Time and space unravels while normality ruptures and disintegrates as foundational structures of the status quo are dismantled through intensive executions, founded in the practices surrounding musical selection.

In December 2022, SOULMEEX made its debut with a mix curated by his founder and showrunner, DCSIS. The inaugural track featured in the series was "Kalam Hub" by Moving Still, one of the six cuts from his EP on Palms Trax label, CWPT. It was inevitable that he would be showcased in our PRO series sooner or later.

Hailing from Jeddah but finding his musical home in Dublin, Jamal Sul has become a force to be reckoned with in the world of electronic music. Since his debut in 2016 with a mixtape for the Irish collective wherethetimegoes, Jamal has consistently pushed boundaries and captivated audiences worldwide.

In 2019, his debut EP "With Oud" on Nail Shop Records garnered support from Resident Advisor, while his collaboration with Dar Disku Records birthed bass-heavy edits like "Bas Ismaa Meny" and the contagious "Sidi Mansour (Moving Still Edit)". Premiered by Mixmag, these tracks found their way into the sets of esteemed DJs like Hunee or Skatebård.

His vinyl-only EP "Inta Min Feen?" in 2020 continued to showcase Moving Still's versatility, with tracks like "Bint Al Sa7ra" earning praise from audiences and climbing to the top of Rush Hour's charts. Collaborations with Dutch producer Tjade and releases like "Tafadal تفضل" on Jive Hive Records in 2021 further solidified his status as a boundary-pushing artist.

With his 2022 EP "Kalam Hub" on CWPT mentioned in the first paragraph, Moving Still delivered his most personal offering yet. Tracks like "Kunafa King" and "La Titasil Feeya" showcased his ability to blend melody and techno, earning him spots on Spotify editorial playlists and cementing his status as a future pioneer in the electronic music landscape.

Since then, he’s been actively performing across various countries throughout Europe, collaborating with several radio stations and mix series, and, of course, sharing exceptional edits on his social media platforms as well as through labels such as Disco Arabesque.

Here comes our opening set of Seebühne at Fusion Festival 2024 on Wednesday evening. For us it was a very big honor to play this slot and this pleasure caused some pressure which made us spending quite some time on selecting records and rehearsing. In the end these two hours of truly danceable eclecticism were gone within the blink of an eye and we're still hyped by the memories of all the gorgeous dancers and the love we received.

He is one of the most avid all-around record collectors we know, unearthing the most peculiar tracks from around the world which he showcases on his Youtube channel. Besides this, he releases own tracks, edits, and remixes that are worth checking out! 

Needless to say we were excited for this one and we were not disappointed! Let Earl take you on a trip starting off a sun-kissed mediterranean island, through the mysterious streets of Cairo, to some sweaty underground venue in NYC. Selector Series 25: EARL ORLOG

A two hour journey through the utterly singular sound of Broadcast. Fronted by the late Trish Keenan, the Birmingham band melded the novel soundscaping of library music and early electronic experiments with their own sensitive take on indie rock and pop. Keenan's untimely passing in 2011 effectively ended the project - but a limited amount of previously unheard material has surfaced in the following years. 

This mix features classics and obscurities from across Broadcast's discography, including exclusive tracks featured in upcoming compilation "[Distant Call - Collected Demos 2000-2006](https://broadcast.bandcamp.com/album/distant-call-collected-demos-2000-2006)".

The sound might be a bit off due to the leveler, odd EQing, intense fun and a great Friday night. But we hope that after some editing it’s edible now!
