El Camino de Leda Remixes Vol.1 y Vol.2
The new collaborative release between Folcore Records (Barcelona) and Fértil Discos (Buenos Aires)

A double album made up of remixes of the vinyl released in 2019 "El Camino de Leda" that featured the participation of Chancha Via Circuito, La Charo, Uji, Shaman Herrera, Tremor, Barda, El Remolón, Soema Montenegro, Dat García, King Coya , Pol Nada and more representatives, both of the organic electronic sound of Buenos Aires and singers of contemporary Argentine folk and urban music.

This time, artists from different latitudes remix the tracks of the original ones to create new sounds in song format, to make them suitable for the dance floor in slow mode and also to listening them on any occasion. It has the participation of Klik & Frik, Rodrigo Gallardo, Guazú, Derrok, Tribilin Sound, Carla Valenti, Qechuaboi, Lucas Lead, Mente Orgánica, Nixtamal just to mention some of the collaborations.

El Camino de Leda Remixes Vol.1 and Vol.2 is a new tribute to Leda Valladares, two volumes that include 10 songs each. Available on all streaming platforms.

El nuevo lanzamiento colaborativo entre los sellos Folcore Records (Barcelona) y Fértil Discos (Buenos Aires) Un disco doble compuesto por remixes del disco editado en 2019 El Camino de Leda que contó con la participación de Chancha Via Circuito, La Charo, Uji, Shaman Herrera, Tremor, Barda, El Remolón, Dat García, Soema Montenegro, King Coya, Pol Nada y más representantes, tanto del sonido electrónico orgánico de Buenos Aires como cantantes de la música folklorica y urbana  contemporánea argentina.

En esta ocasión, artistas de diferentes latitudes remezclan las pistas de los tracks originales para crear nuevas sonoridades en formato de canciones, tan aptas para la pista de baile en modo slow como para su escucha en cualquier ocasión. After just over a year-long hiatus from the Earthly Tapes series – the 3rd Chapter is finally upon us. Offering more mind-altering tracks to the series, we welcome 6 new members to the Earthly Measures familia!

We kick things off with ‘Comets (part I & II)’, the first release by ORSO, the new musical project from Jean Dasso AKA Yeahman, stepping into club and drum music. Alongside faster rhythms, he is influenced by UK Break music, African dances and traditional instruments. In the opening track for Earthly Tapes 03, we’re taken through a two chapter journey led by modular melodic loops, old traditional voices samples, ORSO’s own recordings.

We then take a trip to Argentina as we welcome Balam to the EM family, join him as he takes you on a daydream across the Latin-American rainforest where synthesizers and nature collide to make the perfect mix, guided by a voice from the deep jungle. ‘Ensueño’ is a dance-floor tool for both the start and end of the night.

Japanese native Mamazu brings up the tempo for the third track ‘Tombi’. Transporting us to a hypnotic and hedonistic state as delightful aerophones sound with the exotic chant delivering the feeling of a dry breeze from the unseen frontier. Another dance floor ripper!

The B-side starts with ‘Voces’, a track inspired by the music that Chilean artist DJ Raff’s mum listened to when he was a teenager making beats in his bedroom. He used to take her records and tapes to sample and make boom-bap beats at the time. Every time he showed her a new beat, she had the ability to recognize the track that he sampled. Voces is influenced by both Spanish and Chilean 70’s music, although very deconstructed and hidden.

Ditti takes us through ever-twisting waves as we swim upstream, spot the time and take off... welcome to ‘Poly Party’. The soundtrack to a carnivalesque funked out ballad on a Polynesian beach shifting between slide & ride, cutting synths and dripping flows.

We wrap things up with ‘Small Town Rebellion’, a story told by Scottish producer Kusht – this downtempo chugger reflects the story of a young man in a dead-end town with no future. He needs to break his fate and carve his own path by revolting and manifesting his own destiny.

➔ About the Track
Originally a flip on a random Rhodes sample I downloaded from YouTube, I haven't been able to locate the video ever since. Started August 2023.
The main rhodes in the drop is duplicated and pitched up an octave, with volume automation, giving it this guitar-like tonality. One of my favourite sound design technique since, which I've reused in tracks such as Sirens (never released but iykyk).
The vocal is made using Synthesizer V, with this being my first experience with lyrics, up until my remix of Bad Seed for YOKAI's album. I wanted a deep voice, similar to that of DRS which I was (and am still) addicted to. Unfortunately not quite what I envisioned but it worked.

Collection of Liquid Drum & Bass works from 2021~2024.
This album is a testament to almost 4 years of producing, while still not finding what I truly enjoy making. Perhaps, one could say I'm lost. But at the same time, I've been lost forever yet I've never felt like it was truly a problem. So Let's hope the next few years are equally filled with both ups and downs - I think this is what makes my life so interesting.
Liquid DnB has been a great genre to produce over the years, with inspiration by Makoto, LSB, Harry Shotta, and many more. While being a genre I sometimes consider as 'lazy' or 'uninspired', I still think it's one of the widest subgenres of drum & bass, considering the range of instruments---both synthetic and acoustic---which can be used.

The cover artwork and video visuals are a love letter to my magnificent country and region - the French Alps, and showcase something I really enjoy: taking deep breaths outside through driving, hiking or cycling. The photo was taken in 2023 during a bivouac and is the westside of Taillefer from the Plateau des Lacs, and various videos were taken from 2021 to today on various trips and hikes, by car, foot or bicycle.

Nicola Cruz is releasing the remixed version of his critically acclaimed 2015 album, Prender el Alma. It will be released on June 10th on ZZK Records, and features remixes by 12 artists including label-mates History of Colour (El Buho & Barrio Lindo), Chancha Via Circuito, and sister label-mate EVHA.

Inspired by electronic music techniques and local Andean music and culture, Cruz created the original sounds in Prender el Alma layer by layer, instrument by instrument, drum by drum. A cast of eclectic Latin American artists seamlessly pick up where Nicola left off, adding their unique flavor to each individual track.

Lagartijeando is the name of producer, musician and DJ Mati Zundel. Born, raised and currently living in a small town on the outskirts of Buenos Aires called Dolores. Strongly influenced by his travels through Latin America, Mati’s signature psychedelic dance tracks latch onto everything from traditional folk sounds from the Bolivian altiplano to the jungle beats of Brazil.

Mati hypnotically fuses his traditional influences (with an emphasis on shaman chant and charango loops) with contemporary electronic beats, creating a sound that once left NPR speechless.

Freshly into 2017, Mati brings us El Gran Poder via Wonderwheel— named after an important Aymara festival that takes place in Bolivia and Peru, purely to celebrate family. At these festivals, the community also celebrates their culture and the importance of the collective identity. The album was recorded in Mati’s town, Dolores, outside of Buenos Aires. Once again taking a huge variety of sounds— this time influenced by Brazilian house, afro-brazilian rhythms, and folkloric Andean music.

Lagartijeando - Sueño de Planta

For this our sixth Botanas single series we have the pleasure to present two stunning original tracks and one beautiful edit from Canadian producer Oonga (who you might have spotted on our Mare Insularum compilation). Oonga is a DJ/producer from Montreal who works with Stonetree Records. 

Opener El Caracol is one of the most personal tracks the artist has ever made. It is based on a poem written by Eli´s (Oonga) dad and dedicated to him. It was written after the two of them had a really deep conversation about hidden pain and then months later his dad showed him the words, and he was extremely moved and so created this beautiful track. 

This inspiration came at the same time as Oonga's exposure to the neo-folkloric slow cumbia tech sound while travelling. He put the two together and this special Botanas was born. His dear friend Ana adapted the words into Spanish and sang the melodies (as well as doing the art). 

Oonga´s music captured our ears right away and these three tracks are the perfect soundtrack to the end of the summer for those of us in the norther hemisphere or to welcome the end of the Winter and brighter times for all those down south!
