We make documentaries and audio art for radio, podcasts and public spaces.

At the heart of what we do is a belief in the imaginative possibilities of radio. Sounds that can reconfigure the world around you, move you through inner landscapes, sink into your dreams.

We are an intentionally small company that considers carefully the creative, social and political aspects of the work we put out into the world.

Falling Tree has two full-time Directors – Eleanor McDowall and Alan Hall – and we work with freelancers across our projects, including the core Short Cuts production team of Alia Cassam, Axel Kacoutié and Andrea Rangecroft.

We are one of the founding signatories of the Equality in Audio pact.

Ear to Bucharest ajută bucureștenii să conștientizeze sunetele orașulului în care trăiesc și pe care de multe ori aleg să le ignore.

Corp. is a Bucharest based project and platform. It aims to represent and showcase female-identified musicians and DJ's in electronic music, while also being dedicated to acquiring and exposing obscure sounds, spanning from experimental and traditional forms to contemporary ones. Its activity is dedicated to broadening the focus on female identified artists within the context of Bucharest's local scene as well as beyond the borders of the country.
The project also aspires to go beyond the performing artists and to include studio musicians, producers, sound engineers, technicians, cover artists, distributors, promoters, and festival organizers.
The main urgent drive behind Corp.'s initiative is to open and sustain a studio where women will have the space and time to further develop their skills and communicate.

Contrasens este un podcast care explorează teme de actualitate din câmpul științelor sociale. Proiectul urmărește să aducă în prim plan și să facă cât mai accesibile cercetările făcute în prezent de sociologi, antropologi sau alți specialiști din domenii conexe. Gazde și producători ai conținutului sunt foști studenți ai Facultății de Sociologie și Asistență Socială, UBB: Marina Mironica, Matei Mlinarcic, Karol Pataki, Pati Murg, Vlad Bejinariu și Maria Martelli. Mark Vernon is a Glasgow based sound artist who works with found tapes and acousmatic presence. His work explores themes of magnetic memory, audio archaeology, voyeurism and nostalgia. 

His solo music projects have been published through labels including Kye, Glistening Examples, Flaming Pines, Misanthropic Agenda, Gagarin, Sonoris, Granny, Psychetropes, Persistence of Sound, Flag Day, Entr’acte, Discrepant, Futura Resistenza, Vice de Forme, Calling Cards and Canti Magnetici. 

He co-runs and curates Glasgow art radio station, Radiophrenia and has produced programmes for stations internationally.

Hai Art is an experimental art platform in Hailuoto / Finland with emphasis on sound, digital media, participatory, ecological and interdisciplinary art forms.

Kaiku: The Hailuoto Sound Choir (Hailuoto / island in northern Finland) recreates the sounds of the island with vocal tools and learns a program of pieces composed or curated by Antye Greie. The pieces are specifically curated and written for this choir. Performances will be recorded and archived in a blog. The program is open to everybody. No singing skills required.
