What do you play when you're closing down an inspiring weekend retreat celebrating 20 years of Shameless? Here you go!

Although the recording ended up with a few random pops/crackles along with an 8 second moment where a CDJ died mid mix (not sure WTF happened there?!), I decided to move past the imperfections and share this moment in time. 

I won't ever forget following John Tejada's epic 3 hour journey to close out our 20 year celebration riding into the morning together.

Recess Closing Set - Vicennial 20 Year Anniversary Retreat - Recorded Live 8-13-23

Easy Tiger is a desert-dwelling cat that survives on a steady diet of house music, techno, and the occasional breakbeat snack. This multi-genre approach is a product of Nic’s diversified upbringing. Born in New Orleans and raised near Austin, our lil’ tiger cub developed a taste for blues and jazz at a young age. Sitting behind soundboards at live music venues with his uncle, music became a passion that grew into an obsession. 

Once he saw house DJ's for the first time in 1996, it was time to earn his stripes. He acquired a pair of Technics and went hunting for that underground sound, digging for unique vinyl. Playing venues across Texas, eventually moving to Detroit, Chicago, Los Angeles, and finally settling near Joshua Tree, each area left an imprint on Nic's style.

Having DJ’d for over 25 years, Easy Tiger utilizes his experience to weave elements of blues, jazz, soul, hip-hop and house into his sets, a formula that offers a little something for everybody on the dance floor.
