Cresting the rise of the greatest hill in a land of rolling plains, the young explorer sighed with relief as he had come to the end of his great pilgrimage. It was from here, the legends recalled, that his forebears had first seen their home. Settling amidst the occasional copses of trees that dotted the landscape below and alongside the many streams and brooks that gave the land life, they had shared in the simple delights of existence as they worked the soil under the benevolent gaze of their many gods. To the explorer, such a life had seemed only a mere fantasy for so long. Yet, as he rested atop the hill, the land that was now reclaimed by nature seemed to brim with its promise once more.

In the thousands of years that separated him from the time of the legends, his people had moved on from such humble beginnings, finding their homes first in ever-further corners of the world and later amongst the stars. Along with the other peoples of his world, they had utilized their advanced technology to lead a mass exodus off of the planet and into the many known habitable worlds of the galaxy. In reverence to the world that had first given them shelter amidst the endless cosmos, the peoples of the world had removed all signs of their influence, allowing it to return to its most primal state. Now recognized as a holy planet by all members of the galactic federation of which his people were a part, all people of the explorer’s age were given a year to walk the lands of their ancestral paradise, allowing them to wonder at it’s natural marvels as their ancestors once did and pay homage to the celestial body that had borne forth their civilization. Thus it was that here, atop this legendary hill that yet seemed so insignificant within his full conception of the known universe, that the young explorer was suffused with the divine power that radiated from this ancient world. As he closed his eyes in communion with the planet, his spirit soared above the plains, ran through the underbrush beneath the trees, and flowed freely in harmony with the streams as he experienced a FREEDOM the likes of which he had never felt before. In that moment he knew, in the deepest part of his heart, that this was his home. No matter how far into the universe he would venture during his life, it always would be.

AGRESSOR BUNX return to EATBRAIN with FREEDOM, an EP which follows in the wake of their massive 2021 album ENSUING CATACLYSM. Much time had passed since the uprising of the demon kings had sprung forth from the ancient obelisk, bringing ruin to the great city that had been built around it. Yet more had passed since humanity had lost their homeworld to these malevolent creatures, who poured out from the monument with no other desire than to torture, pillage, and destroy. For years, all-out war had raged on the Earth’s surface and yet for all of humanity’s most valiant efforts, the killing of one demon had begotten only the rising of two more. In their final hour, those scant few who survived had fled to the stars, abandoning the wreckage of their beloved home. It was there that they maintained an uneasy existence above it, one tied to the sanctuary of a handful of meager orbital stations scattered amidst their solar system.

It was from these stations that they now watched in horror as a great celestial body rapidly entered their domain, its surface scarred by gargantuan visages of suffering and despair that protruded from its surface. As it neared the abandoned remains of their homeworld, the gravity well of the hellish sphere sucked its shattered pieces almost instantaneously inward as though feeding the horrific faces that marred its ochre hide. The percussive impact of a lone T-REX’s talons echoed down the street with reptilian confidence, an emotion shared and augmented by the pompous mannerisms of the man who rode astride it. The beast’s monstrous nature forced friend and enemy alike to take reverent notice of his very presence, and the man quite enjoyed being the center of attention as his mount lumbered through the jagged alleyways that had long been his home. Lost amidst his own grandeur, his mind wandered to thoughts of childhood bullies, business rivals, and others of an unappreciable ilk. They, he smugly thought, did not have the latest model of theropod mount. His, by contrast, was magnificent as it fed upon the occasional stray or frightened bird and left a smattering of spattered crimson in his wake. 

As a science, genomic revival had been actualized for almost as long as the man himself had been alive. He had for so long dreamed of this day, having watched in envy as the folk of the upper city rode upon perfect biological chimera that answered to their every whim. Though the costs associated with the creation of such creatures had decreased significantly, such prestigious beasts as his own T-REX still lay well beyond the income of a mere android repairman like himself. Thus it was that as he had happened upon the body of his current mount clinging to life atop a local scrap heap, he had rushed to its aid and imbued its body with every piece of spare artificial biology at his disposal. Now, as the cybernetic augmentations to his beast’s ruddy hide shone lustrous in the sun, the man reclined pridefully into his saddle as he uttered a silent prayer in the hopes that his hacked together diet inhibitor would continue to keep himself off of his new mount’s menu. 

MIDNIGHT CVLT returns to EATBRAIN with T-REX, a five track EP that sees one of EATBRAIN’s most recent additions unleash a furious follow-up to 2023’s “Bloodfire” EP on the label. Marked by the menacing sonic character so alluded to by his moniker, the five tracks within T-REX are sure to induct a fresh batch of souls into the EATBRAIN horde under the sway of MIDNIGHT CVLT’s undeniable influence.

The dissonant thrum of opposed antigravity fields ripped through the nighttime skyline as a retrofitted RP-19 Levette drifted past the 322nd-story windows of a corp tower, its fusion engine expelling an intense burst of helium gas that drifted quickly into the harvesting drones hovering above the airway. Nipping at its tail came a squadron of automated enforcer skiffs in 3-point formation that moved in perfect synchronization to block any possibility of backward escape by the target they pursued. As the chase opened up into a straightaway, the enforcer skiffs unleashed a barrage from their tuned resonance armaments, specifically designed to utilize the antigravity frequencies of the megacities’ airways to lock a pursued vehicle in gravitic stasis for ease of capture. 

Sensing this imminent outcome, the pilot of the Levette prepared himself for a most dangerous maneuver requiring phase-perfect timing, in which failure meant an instantly fatal flattening at the hands of rapid gravitic deceleration As the first of the resonance pulses impacted the frame of his vehicle he disabled its antigravity buffer entirely, an action of momentary duration that seemed to stretch out into eternity. The walls of the city’s superstructures warped their shape beside him as an infinitesimal instant of hypergravity bent light around the frame of his vehicle before subsuming him in total darkness. Then, a blinding flash of light sent him skidding out above the vast desert wasteland surrounding the megalopolis that had been his home. As he came slowly to a halt over 30 seconds and 300 kilometers from his entry point, the pilot breathed a sigh of relief. A successful gravitic warp was something most perished attempting, and his had borne him his freedom in his escape from THE CHASE.

REDPILL returns to EATBRAIN after his debut album on the mighty BLACKOUT, with a helping of lightspeed sonics for the eager ears of the label’s horde, who have long awaited another dose of the artist’s cinematic and scientifically toned tracks. In a single second, the resulting soundwave would liquefy their fleshy bodies, rend the alloyed construction of their laboratory, and heave solid earth into novel formations upon the back of its undulating waveshape. The depth of the forest was unknown to those who lived at its verge. Shadows cast from the dense canopy seemed to reach out towards those who passed close by, wisps of darkness unfurling and twisting around the limbs of the youngest that dared to play at its sinister edge. The oldest stories of its roots passed across the creaking voices of the town pensioners hunched in the safety of others, discretely whispered and shot through with fearful looks. The allure of that dense and ancient place stretched back eternal, and bitter consequence waited for those who breached its dark heart.  The crew ignored the nonsense of such crones, pulling the carts of equipment under the cover of dusk until the sounds of the town were but a memory. The speaker stacks were raised against the night, strings of lights hung between the trees and purity of disturbed bass rolled against the surrounding trunks as they disentangled themselves from the mundane fiber of the lives they left behind. Twisting against one another as they let flood serotonin delight, they ignited an orgy of sonic symbiosis as the rave found its wings and took flight. The spores drifted imperceptibly into the clearing from the darkness around, lodging without discomfort in the eyes, ears and noses of the gathered young. And then the screaming started, the undulating mass of the gathering turned inward… devouring itself as limbs were separated from bodies, necks ripped as skin tore loose and the blood flowed freely over the gnashing faces of those left alive at the KILL PARTY…

Deep within the core of their sprawling annex, The Institution’s top minds worked diligently at their insidious craft. Their hands moved swiftly, as they worked relentlessly with the sharp tools of their mind; warping words, images, and sounds to fit their malevolent narrative. Their objective was singular, complete control exercised from the shadows, profits reaped from beyond the veil of obscurity. Trust, that most hallowed principle, was nothing to them but a tool of manipulation, exercised to to legitimize their empire. The plan was simple, a classic diversion operated on a massive scale. The creation of an enemy, the eternal outsider, one against whom the public must remain vigilant. Composed of a paradox, the outsider posed no threat, yet could never be vanquished. Instead, his reputation and the shadow of his fearful influence would loom as a spectre, a shade of darkness designed to haunt the masses. Their fear would drive them into the protection of The Institution, shepherded in the manner of livestock. From there, the extension of their complete control would be assured. The machinations of its minds completed, The Institution began its program of domination in full, disseminating its precisely produced PROPAGANDA amongst the public.

Their message was erected upon the walls of their great city, proliferated throughout the mailboxes of its citizens, and across the webpages of it their tightly controlled digital network. Their message spread with viral efficiency. The citizens’ response was sublimely realised, a surge of fear through the populace, shepherding them into the arms of The Institute as they sought security in the face of the threat birthed in pure imagination. Security, The Institution was more than happy to provide; promising strength in the face of the mysterious menace. The Institution’s agents felt the power of their positions strengthen throughout the city, soon holding its highest offices in their grip, putting greater tools of control in their hands. Initiatives were passed, laws enacted, and the vaults of the city drained. The streets were the conduit of their fear, their PROPAGANDA campaign continuing in the fearful whispers of the citizens carrying the fear of The Outsider’s presence. The cycle was set, justification freely given out of fear. The Institute’s diabolic machinations ran as pure as the fear that coursed through the city.

The man pulling the strings behind the revered EATBRAIN imprint, JADE, returns for his second release of the year on his home label with the fiercely executed PROPAGANDA EP, featuring the veteran skills of RIDO. Having survived the treacherous path that now lay behind them, a group of ardent adventurers found themselves before the gates of a great temple, shrouded in mists atop the highest peak in their land. From within rang out a titanic voice that shook the earth with its every word, permeating the very souls of those who stood before the gate. “Hear me, supplicants to this temple” rang its initial call, “Know that you tread upon the grounds of Snake Monastery, and that you shall face many tests and trials should you seek to proceed in whatever quest hath brought you here. You now face the LAVA RUN, and should you hope to continue you must prove your worth.” These words the voice left to echo throughout the mountain peaks as the adventurers set to the task before with utmost resolve. Utilizing every ounce of their combined might, they heaved open the doors to the great temple, which shuddered open to reveal a most terrifying sight. Approaching unstoppably towards them was a boulder of titanic size, seemingly unseated from its pedestal by the gate’s monumental motion. With practiced synchronicity the adventurers sprang into action, preparing to meet the boulder head on in the midst of its fast approaching onslaught. Yet, at the last moment before their inevitable collision, one amongst the adventurers raised a single fist and struck with all of their might at the boulder’s core. With nary a second remaining before it would have crushed the party beneath its incomprehensible mass, the boulder was reduced to naught but dust, and the path forwards through the temple lay open. “It seems you are indeed of the strength to continue,” came the voice from within “but brawn alone will not grant you admittance to the Snake Monastery’s inner sanctum. Continue further, if you are truly worthy, and face the next trial!”
