The quickly climbing UK based producer, Artifact, drops two room-rattling Neurofunk tunes to mark his first appearance with the Nocid Business brand. Mind bending beats with a captivating ethos is common territory for Artifact and this release lives up to that expectation.

Kickstarting the EP is ‘Unleashed’, a wild track bursting with energy driven by buzzing bass and dark pads that set the ominous tone. This industrial monster is a hard one so prepare to feel the weight of its disposition.

Second on the EP is ‘Dystopia’, a dark techy track that punches with incisive drums and crunchy bass that billows out into the airwaves. This entrancing piece bridges the gap between the robotic and the organic with twanged string melodies, hollow hand drums, and glitched chants engulfed by snarling patches. With an ever-changing presence you may as well keep this one on repeat.

Hailing from Toulouse, French trio Signs have already carved themselves out an interesting niche within the nu-skool neuro scene, stamping their unique output into the public’s consciousness with big releases on Red Light Records, Bad Taste Recordings, C4C Recordings, and RAM Records

Their beats are sparse and militant with each drum hit afforded the space to dominate the audio spectrum, with pauses and moments of silence, delicately programmed into the DNA of the drum tracks, playing big part in the groove’s forward momentum, propelling the riddims forward and creating a dynamically powerful and compelling backbone for the rugged, tough basslines to shine.

The tunes are punctuated with wild Reese fluctuations and sci-fi sound effects reminiscent of the Wormhole-esq techstep from the end of the last century, with dark atmospherics ushering each trackdown the rabbit hole and into the dank, hellishbasements of debauchery that tunes like these call home.

Night has fallen, the threat of extinction riding on the edge of its transition. Decaying and contorted faces of the undead leer from the shadows, twisted limbs reaching from the darkness towards the eternal signal - driven to crush its subversive broadcast and extinguish the final beacon. A single being stands in their way - the strongest of his kind, the last of a genetic line extending into a derelict past with an imperative to preserve the future. An arsenal of sonic weaponry residing within the lines of his palms, drawn forth through the ancient forms manifested by long-dead masters. His swift movement amongst the shuffling army is efficient - acute strikes snap limbs, raw concentrated power crushes bone, low-frequency techniques leaving little behind from the weight of brutal molecular disruption. With the rising of the sun, only he remains – the broken dead lying scattered and without motion – the focused power of his fighting form has prevailed… the signal is preserved.
 
Following up on the impact of the sampler EP, L 33 unleashes his most devastating technique upon the EATBRAIN label with his KARATE LP. One year had passed since the devastation of mankind. All life ravaged by the undead plague, a tide of death sweeping across the planet mercilessly, as the ever-growing mass of the lifeless swelled in its wake. The sentient population of the globe was reduced to pitiful numbers, hiding in the wreckage of once vibrant cities, long since destroyed in the futile battle for survival. Where once there was hope for survival, now remained only the ember of a desperate memory of a different future. The cycle of the dead was ever in motion, their ragged forms roaming in packs, haunting the urban desolation. Ever-dimming senses of their terminal animated corpses constantly ready to consume the living. An endless yearning to feed drove them relentlessly onwards through the desolate shadows of civilization’s end, whilst the earth below those skulking feet continued its galactic voyage obliviously. Above one such horde, a celestial alignment was unfurling in the cold depths of space. As the sun burned blood red against the horizon and the moon slid serenely across its infernal face, the light dimmed as heavy shade drew across planet. The shuffling of the horde paused as distant poured their anguish into the sky at the early arrival of night. Rotting faces raised to the heavens, the light of that unholy corona spilling across their putrid features. The dying rays of a bleak sunset penetrating their rotting sockets, as the SOLAR ECLIPSE leveled darkness upon the earth with raging eternal might.
 
Hungarian neurofunk legend CHRIS.SU returns to the EATBRAIN label in full force, following up his ‘Underground Culture’ label anthem and State of Mind Collaboration ‘Chariots’ with his first full EP – SOLAR ECLIPSE. From the eerie and suspenseful atmosphere of the title track in collaboration with label core JADE & MINDSCAPE, to the driven filth of THE LAST LAUGH, wrapped in the sinister lyrics of NUKLEAR, through to the shimmering but powerful sci-fi aesthetics of THE ARROW, Chris.SU delivers a pure slice of heaviness for one of dnb’s most vibe-laden imprints. In this second instalment on the recently re-launched C4C Limited, we welcome Kursiva, alongside the vocal talents of Hijak MC and the production talents of Transforma.

Provoke' takes on the traditional neuro-infused roller but with Hijak MC's signature vocals. With craftily distorted bass and rolling drum patterns, Kursiva slowly begins to build his track layer on layer, creating a cascading monster. Bouncing between breaks, Hijak MC takes you deep into a dark and dirty world, one that forces the listener to pay attention.

Juggernaut' gradually moves itself forward on cranking drum patterns and slowly creeping synths cutting through the mix, edging out its atmospherics and then crashing forward on its grating snare. Pounding warped aquatic sub undertones rattle each beat, resulting in you becoming more tightly gripped with every sound and layer. This beast of a collaboration between Kursiva and Transforma demonstrates C4C's contemporary standards and elevated understanding of the realm they reign over.
