Years of sweating in garage bands evidently prepared the Lipsky brothers to break boundaries in commercial club culture with a sound that somehow evokes the essence of psych-rock while never sounding out of place alongside certified technoid bangers.

Their musical breadth as producers speaks to their talent as DJs, with a deep passion for record digging that again conveys very specific sensibilities – a love for the exotic, the yearning for transcendence, as well as the rough rebellious energy of punk. They produce dance music from the margins, full of with narrative, melody, and drama. It’s intense, in a good way.* 

Their affiliations to broad-spectrum labels like Multi Culti, Disco Halal and Correspondant might paint some picture of their range, and their stellar remixes for artists like Nicola Cruz, Adam Port, Autarkic and Polo & Pan may have earned them lots of plays,  but their debut LP ‘Sorry, We Did Something Wrong’ is undoubtedly their most ambitious and elaborate statement to date. Drenched in their influences, rich in collabs with a range of artists like Sepultura’s Igor Cavalera and C.A.R., the record is at once ambitious and, as the title suggests, apologetic. Their capacity for embracing these polarities, a radical boldness tempered by self-consciousness, it may divide the audience, but it shows unmistakable personality.

Simple Symmetry returnes to Multi Culti with an epic, mournful EP called “Problem,” featuring a huge remix by long-time compatriots Red Axes. Another huge edit for CULTED is on deck, as well as a peak-time rework of Drugface, following up on their massive mix of ‘In the Clouds.’

If your here for a “powerhouse,” TOTTIE is one such force who has swept into Los Angeles with the express purpose of making a mark within the space of dance music culture. With TOTTIE it seems instinctual; as a natural reflex, to live and breathe the sounds that she loves. And she has swiftly made a mean mark: with her own long-running Dublab show, and in 2020, alongside Maddy Maia, co-founding SOS Music (a !K7 imprint) explicitly commited to amplifying the emerging female, non-binary and gender minority talent from across the globe. With multiple critically acclaimed releases under their belt, and a sold out North America tour SOS Music is proving to be a formidable force in the quest to level the playing field.
TOTTIE’S musical pallette crosses a mix of genres that tap roots in house and disco. Her devoted study of dj sets from the floor and the herstoric impact of the craft and skill shines through in her own technique. Having lived in London, Barcelona, and now Los Angeles, TOTTIE has impressively embodied a global movement in the purity of her intention and the honesty of her commitment to the music.
