First time I've done an SPC without any midi to mml conversion tools and I'm slowly getting more confident in the absolute ballache that is mml! Thanks to @harumi-makoto for helpful advice when making this and ValleyBell for his awesome smps2mid tool so I could have the original sequence data in a digestable form.

In the desert, life is harsh. Amidst the struggle against nature, man fights one another, locked in conflict since time immemorial. Some men fight for their sultan, others for their god, still others for food and water. With the searing sun above and the broiling sands below, one figure casts a lonely shadow across the dunes. 

He is known to be without honor. Without lord or kin. Blasphemer and savage. He wanders the arid land, for reasons unknown. He is called simply the Nomad. And his story is just beginning.

The Ninja Warriors - Skyscraper (Genesis Cover)

Commissioned by user @Falkalore. The parameters of the project were thus: 
1) a piece that takes its inspiration from the soundtrack of Shining Force: The Legacy of Great Intention, particularly incorporating the motifs of the main theme by Masahiko Yoshimura
2) a piece that utilized the soundchips found in the Sega Genesis/MegaDrive, keeping true to the original works' limitations
3) a piece that, more than a mere "remix" takes inspiration but also goes beyond in telling its own story

Following these stipulations, this work tells a story in four parts:

Act 1: Gathering Storm ~ The March of Darkness
Act 2: The Arrival of the Shining Force, and the Raucous Joining of Battle, A Brief Reflection at What is At Stake
Act 3: The Enemy Regroups: A Desperate Counterattack
Act 4: The Shining Force Holds Firm, a Decisive Victory, Hope for the Future

The piece imagines a a scenario in which Max and his Company are called forth again to save the land of Rune (and the world) from the forces of darkness, who have risen again. A battle ensues, signalling the beginning of another epic tale of the Shining Force!

Above all, this piece of music has as its origin the dedication and confidence of Falkalore, who reached out to me to commission me to write a piece in the style of Shining Force. Being a fan of the games and eager to write a more orchestral-sounding piece, I eagerly agreed. He can take the most credit for getting my mind to push forward what I could personally do with FM instrumentation and arrangement. 

Secondly, this commission stands at a milestone for my profile, surpassing 25,000 plays from my tracks. Over the course of seven (!!!) years, it's been incredible to see my audience grow into the thousands from anonymous listeners, friends, dedicated followers, and more. The reason I write music is because of your support, vocalized or otherwise. I am truly thankful for all the feedback, compliments, and critiques I have received over the years, and am always striving to improve for both your and my sake, whether with FM synth chiptunes or with more conventional music.

This is yet another track from Symphony of Hunted Truths, the second Elancia book/album combo. This song is for the secret, hidden thief city of Las Lunas. You have to know somebody to get in. The place is run by the mob, and full of all sorts of fun illegal stuff. Black market? Check. Illegal gambling? check! If you want it, you can probably find it here. You can also probably get whacked here if you go down the wrong alleyway... The city is located in a cave 'somewhere' within The Empire.
