Between 2016 & 2018 I recorded a number of mixes
called "Tropical Mysteries", including some of so called
„Lo-Fi“ mysteries.
Lo-Fi or Hi-Fi, what ever. Raw Diamonds, pure Pearls.
Many of these Tracks create a special mood in me
& have always accompanied me over the years.

Some of these tracks run over and over and my reaction is always the same: turn up the volume and listen reverently with a smile. So it makes sense for me to pack all of these tracks on one boat and go out to sea again.

Sometimes we find inspiration in the words of others as Harz did for this set, “Music has to do with sounds, so we need to find them somewhere and it is preferred to find musical ones. You have two sources for sounds: noises, which always tell you something - a door cracking, a dog barking, the thunder, the storm; and then you have instruments. An instrument tells you, 'la-la-la-la'. Music has to find a passage between noises and instruments. It has to escape. It has to find a compromise and an evasion at the same time; something that would not be dramatic because that has no interest to us, but something that would be more interesting than sounds like Do-Re-Mi-Fa…” - Pierre Schaeffer

'Following modern utopian and human potential movements from the 60s through the 80s, one theme that runs through these groups is the inclusion of music and sound-making in their organized practices. As these groups sought to give their members the tools or environment from which to liberate themselves from the constraints and norms of postwar life, music was a common vehicle for that personal and spiritual liberation. Music—like collective, collaborative farm work or group guided meditation practice—was another channel for personal and group expression of a new ideal of living and being.'

For this second episode of Chimaera for Lyl Radio, we invited a dear Milano Artist, Atoloï. his productions and mixes search for other depths, in which the listener can get lost in a dense "no boundaries" journey between the worlds of dance and meditation.

"When i started thinking about the way i could build this mix i had a completely different idea of it in my mind, in fact, i was planning to create a deep and fast-paced broken beat mix, like a continuous flow of rhythms directly polarized to the body. After actually starting, things took a completely different route, leading me to go search in that gap that links the mind to the physical world, the whole process of losing ourselves to search for a higher state as a Sufi that dances in a full trance. So, as an ecstatic experience, the mix grows slowly from a dreamy and crystal clear ambiance to deep and gritty sonorities, reaching its clue point with rattling percussion and cutting the silence with twisted rhythmic patterns. That fair of sounds won’t last much and just right after touching the peak, it will come back to nothing, concluding the mix without any kind of goodbyes."

Welcome to the 75th transmission of the Stellar Series.

Today, let's welcome Respira, the alias of Danish artist, producer, sound designer and DJ Markus Trige Frandsen.
Respira creates sonic realms of free form and fluidity, exploring texture, depth, emotion and color of sound. Through the means of both electronic and acoustically generated sound, Respira aims towards union and coherence between nature and technology.

Respira’s creative output is a constantly evolving process, which has been shaped through a vast amount of collaborative projects over the years in the field of music and sound design for various media and activities. This includes music and sound for yoga, guided meditations, audiovisual installations, VR, poetry, performance art, animation film, podcasts etc.

Respira is also co-founder of the label, event production and cultural community Nature Tales in Copenhagen.

The ultimate destination is a place that surrounds like a fine mist and lets the mind roam free. Argentinian producer Mekas takes us to this dimension, filling time and space with an ethereal ambiance that is both as striking as it is inventive. His recent outing "Entropy" on the Aula Magna imprint saw him melding elements of immense calm with sharp, distinctive textures. It pricked our ears immediately, so it was only natural to invite him to contribute the next mix in our winter series. Turn on the heater, light some candles and Unrush.
