Today we are pleased to welcome Mannheim based Herr Dobler. Since 2019 he is part of the Cosmic Gathering team and organizes a music event series on site called Der Automat, which is still in its infancy. For us, he recorded a little journey through his favorite oriental-influenced records and tracks he's been wanting to put into a mix for a long time. Especially the last three tracks are absolute gems for him, which Kyran frequently listens to, but rarely plays anywhere. We hope that you enjoy listening as much as we do.

After 2019’s Uzun Havalar, the Turkish artist returns with an album that continues to explore a variety of deeply embedded musical traditions while also hurtling into new terrain. The music and influences – as well as the history, culture and geography behind them – that make up Atila as an artist all coalesce to create something entirely new. The result is something that is simultaneously exploring history and tradition, while harnessing innovative modern sounds and techniques.“If there is any tradition I am somehow connected to, or influenced by, then it’s multi-genres,” she says. “Such as Turkish Pop and Arabesk music from this country where I grew up.There is a connection to Folk and also French pop or Flamenco, Middle Eastern melodies and orchestration, Greek adaptations, Kenny G. solos, American guitars.” (Pingipung). @andiotto: When we founded Pingipung as a collective 20 years ago, we were influenced by what was called Electronica at the time. A playful, experimental, curious approach to electronic music production which sounded much more interesting to us than the sterile minimal techno which was so hyped back then. Big shout out to the labels who we loved then, and still love today: Karaoke Kalk, City Centre Offices, Sonig, ~scape, Warp Records, Thrill Jockey, Morr Music, Ghostly … (sadly some are no longer with us).

Blessed is the feeling here when listening to this celestial and mysterious beauty of a mix by @Pingipung's very own Heiko Gogolin (@heiko-h-gogolin). With an almost shamanic vision he weaves a web of rhythm and melody for many returning listening sessions. The working title fits the vibe so well that we had to keep it.  Steadily growing onme it has been great company for many late night work sessions in the bin HQ and I must really say it best fits the dark and calmer hours of the day - filling these with contemplative energy.
