Born from a love of analog synths and vintage sounds

Octobird is a Pro-Jockey, Discjuicer and Music Lover born and based in Berlin, Germany. Someone who’s not necessarily looking for yet unknown sounds in electronic music rather than putting already archived sounds of a long-forgotten future into a new context. Trying to blur your brain’s reception of connotation and curiosity.

Working with sound fragments from old vinyl recordings and films is certainly not a completely new approach, but Octobird archieved to develop his own language from this heritage of Hip Hop and House Music. Strongly modulated microsamples, a handful of drum computers and hardware synths, and jams as raw as possible glue his musical output together.

Nansea (ˈnænsi) is the musical moniker of Berlin-based musician Marek Polgesek. With their music, they create a queer indie/chamber pop sound that goes beyond the traditional singer-songwriter style, while paying tribute to gender nonconforming artists that inspire them. Their sound has been described as a ‘more whimsical Rufus Wrainwright’ and reminiscent of Jeff Buckley and The Irrepressibles. The themes of Nansea's music address their individual experience of the world, with its clashes between hetero-normative constraints, and the incredibly diverse countercultures that arise from it.
Their central theme is suffering as an integral part of life and as a force that brings us together as sensual and emotional beings. While they're embedded in Berlin's local queer scene and community, they seek to find a way to convey the personal feelings we experience as part of this community in a universal language we all share. This language materializes in the form of Nansea's Queer Indie/Chamber Pop sound.

I’m a metropolitan performer, a musician, a writer.
My music is a journey through folkbeat and global pop.
I experiment by blending the sounds of the Global South — part of my roots, my memory — with urban beats, loops, electronics, and groove.
There’s the Mediterranean, ancient chants, and the rhythms of the city.
There’s poetry, which I’ve practiced since I was a child: words are voice and body for me, but also an intellectual path.
Writing is one of the best medicines I know.

Any demos are welcome as long as they match our label style.

Tracks must be finished (not unmixed or unfinished or preview/cuts). 
Do not upload your track to your MySpace or Soundcloud (we accept only private links). 

Tracks must be exclusive and not online for several months! 

Include a short (or large) biography or a press kit if you have one. 
We would like to know who we deal with. 

We listen to every demo we get in about 1 to 2 weeks, but unfortunately we cannot answer to everyone.
