People naturally follow, conform the majority, and this has allowed us to evolve and survive together as a species.  Throughout history it has also made groups of people vulnerable to totalitarian rule that tends to help the ruling class more than the people, when the people are complacent and don't realize their position until it is too late.  While there may be some parallels to governments in the world today, this song is inspired by this "cost of complacency" throughout history rather than any specific events today.

"Wants you to know" is one written for the ladies.  It is a post-breakup song about a strong, bright, beautiful, and confident woman who's been hurt, broken, and moved on.  She leaves town and leaves the past behind her but she isn't running away, she's running to her future and on to amazing things.

The lyrics starts off with a brand new day, going out for a ride in a hot car and feeling good.  In the second verse, she's leaving town but she's not running away.   She's "running to her future" and doing so with a new tattoo.  People tend to get tattoos for meaningful things and changes in their life.  She's making a big change and moving on to bigger and better things.  When the chorus comes in at the end, we learn that she threw away everything she was given in that bad relationship, the memories have gone away so whoever hurt her means nothing to her now, and she wants someone to know.

"Don't let your bitch run large" has been incorrectly  stamped with an "Explicit" label by Apple Music.  For those who actually listen to it, here's the story behind this song.

A friend of mine was dating a lawyer and one day she shared with him a screen shot of her world, an NC Statute she came across that reads as follows.

67-2. Permitting bitch at large.

If any person owning or having any bitch shall knowingly permit her to run at large during the erotic stage of copulation he shall be guilty of a Class 3 misdemeanor. (1862-3, c. 41, s. 2; Code, s. 2501; Rev., s. 3303; C.S., s. 1670; 1993, c. 539, s. 529; 1994, Ex. Sess., c. 24, s. 14(c).)

He knew I would love it, shared her picture with me, and I immediately said "that's a song".  

I was already messing around with the guitar part on my twelve-string, wrote the lyrics for it, and a day or two later "Don't let your bitch run large” ￼was born.  

My original recording was done all on the twelve-string but it didn’t sound right to me.  So I opted to re-record with a warm sounding Martin six-string and added a new twelve-string track to back it up.

Independent artist making songs that rock.

I don’t know about you but I miss hearing songs that just rock.  A couple of guitars, bass, drums, vocals, and harmonies make such a powerful combination.  It’s this power and energy that I’m after in the songs I record.
I perform all parts on these recordings unless otherwise specified. I’m primarily a guitar player and never considered myself a singer but I started doing it to complete my songs and I may be finding a voice for myself.
I’m open to collaboration so reach out if you’d like to work on some tracks.  I don’t have any rap on my tracks, don’t listen to much rap, but I have a couple of incomplete songs I’m interested in brining some rap into.  So let me know if any of you rappers want to collaborate with a rocker.
