A huge mess but for the first song in like 4 years, I don't hate it. Best I could do mixwise. All done on my iPad and the vocals with my cellphone headset, ha!!

Feather or string

Jazzyspoon's much older, sloppier, and more emotional acoustic side project.

I'm a singer-songwriter and visual artist.  I played old time music for many years under the name, "MaTwang" -- still do -- but since I kicked down my 30-year songwriting "block"  -- I'm cranking out original tunes now -- YEAH!!!!!   I've written some 13 (GREAT) songs since July 25 of 2011, and I couldn't be happier!

In the past I played an "old time" band with Edith Frost -- were called The Holler Sisters -- and back at CSAW in Houston I played in The Ne'er Do Wells (original music) with Kevin Jackson --  and in The Econolines with Rick Tillinghast (old time music).

I also have the distinction of having been the "house accordionist" at the CSAW - the Commerce Street Artists Warehouse -- in Houston back in the 80s and early 90s.  I was billed by Malcolm MacDonald as a "Third-generation licensed accordionist" -- since my grandmother played as well.  But I only knew like 3 songs (including the Maybe Yes, Maybe No waltz) and I often played so badly that when we had a cafe scene (Chez Imbecile) several times, customers "tipped" me if I would stop playing!!!  (or to "go to the table on the other side of the room, please").  Luckily for the world, I can't really gig on the accordion since it's too heavy for me to lift now (bad neck).

So I switched to ukulele back in 1990, and now, some 22 years later, I'm finally learning how to actually play the damn thing.  I also play a tenor guitar (badly).

I'll be posting my new songs here as I get decent recordings done...  not easy task for a "recording-beginner" like me, with limited playing skills and a very dynamic voice.... but stay tuned, cuz I'll be posting some real gems here soon.
