Chillish Mixes

While Denver might be the bass capital of North America, the house scene has also been flourishing lately, with a number of artists and collectives guiding the way. One of the producers in the Mile High City who is causing a stir is Josh Fedz, who moved there in 2017 and hasn't looked back since. Not only has he held a residency at Denver's 128 Productions, but he's also played in support of artists like John Summit and Duke Dumont while releasing tunes on labels such as Hood Politics and Groovy Bone.

More recently, Josh Fedz looked to two other talented artists, Zaytek and owie, to collaborate on a dancefloor heater dubbed "Gonna Be." This tech house gem on Sacha Robotti's imprint, Slothacid, offers up a catchy vocal that pairs perfectly with its melodic elements and driving bassline, making it infectious at its core. Josh Fedz offered up some insight behind the track as well, saying that it was "inspired by a true story of being with a significant other who is on the fence on whether or not they are ready to make it official."

To celebrate its release and help kick off the chilly winter months, Josh Fedz spun up the first mix for our Winter Waveforms series this year. This near-hour-and-a-half-long house-fueled ride showcases his innate curation abilities behind the decks as he layers in tracks from artists including Piero Pirupa, Truth X Lies, Kaysin, Westend, Volac, and more. There are also a number of IDs littered throughout the mix that come from DEEPFAKE, Max Styler, and two from Josh Fedz that see him team up with Gio Lucca and Haylee Wood.

The past few years have seen Diskull continue his rise through the ranks of the scene, and he's quickly become an artist who you simply can't ignore. This house DJ and producer from Charlotte has graced imprints ranging from Box Of Cats and Insomniac Records to Dirtybird and Hood Politics while simultaneously curating the sounds found on his imprint, Groovy Bone.

Last year saw Diskull fly forward with releases like "Lucky Charm," "Gimme The Loot," and "Goin' Nowhere," along with collaborations with Willy B. and WOAHH! that further showcased his unique take on house music. Now, in 2023, he's gearing up for another massive run which will kick off with the release of "Head Last Night" that's set to feature vocals from IAMCOUCHSURF. Slated to drop on January 20 with a premiere via legendary UK dance music channel blanc, this track will surely light a fire in your shoes.

There's no better way to shake off the winter cold (and snow) than by dancing your heart out to some infectious house grooves. Luckily for house heads on the hunt for their next fix, Diskull has dropped off an absolute stunner for you to feast your ears on that's filled with a plethora of unreleased IDs and collaborations between him and some of his favorite homies. Italian DJ and producer duo The Deepshakerz have helped those on the dancefloor find their groove since they first arrived on the scene over a decade ago. Not only have they impressed from behind the decks, but they've also flexed their creative muscle in the studio with many releases influenced by everything from classic house to more modern styles. During this time, The Deepshakerz have landed tracks on labels including Defected, SOLA, Crosstown Rebels, and Toolroom, among others, while also running their own imprint, Safe.

The Deepshakerz kicked off 2023 by releasing a remix of Emanuele Esposito and Gianni Romano's "It's Not Right," but one of their biggest gems of the year so far was "Straight Out," which saw them return to Circus Recordings to put their tasty tech house sounds on full display. This track powers forward with its infectious beat that will have you tapping your toes along with it the moment it graces your ears before the vocals arrive to add an extra layer to take it to the next level.

"Straight Out" is a floor-filler that's perfect for any night out at a club, and The Deepshakerz spun up a wicked mix to help showcase exactly that. Found within the 30-minute house-fueled ride are the duo's aforementioned releases from this year, along with other gems like "Horizon Red" by Made By Pete and Zoe Kypri and "I Love Me" by Ten City, Wh0, and Marshall Jefferson.
