Dance music lovers in the Northern Hemisphere are shaking off the winter blues with the arrival of the warmer spring months and with vaccinations increasing by the day the hopes for live music this year are becoming a reality. One DJ who is ready to get back to playing shows is none other than our own Logan Garrison, aka DJ Lo_G, who has been making a name for himself in the scene up in Aspen over the past few years.

Like many other artists in the scene last year, the loss of shows stung deep for DJ Lo_G, who is a frequent face at nightclubs like Belly Up Aspen. Instead of opening for renowned artists like Chris Lake and ZHU or even traveling to festivals like Coachella and CRSSD Festival last year, he looked to digital pastures to take the stage on Twitch while hoping for a safe return for shows as well.

Now, as the future begins to look brighter and limited capacity, outdoor shows have begun to return in Aspen, so have bookings for DJ Lo_G. Earlier this month he announced his first residency of the year, teaming up with fellow artist Ryan Golbus to take the stage at the W Aspen each Friday and Saturday. While more will surely be announced as we dive deeper into 2021, he has aspirations of producing an EP, playing some shows in California, and catching up on some travel as it becomes safer to do so as well. And to celebrate, he's spun up a mix with some certifiable stunners.

For over three decades Michael (Milk) Kronenberger and Steven (Sugar) Harding have been a force to be reckoned with in the house music scene. After years of producing and playing music under other aliases, the two artists came together to form Milk & Sugar back in 1997 and the rest is history. Drawing inspiration from the discohouse movement in Spain, the two quickly went to work and created some sensational tunes like "Higher & Higher," remade disco hits such as "Love Is in the Air," and simultaneously running their label as well.

Milk & Sugar have continued to spin surreal sets and release music over the past two decades, and they arrived in the current one in style. Last year the duo teamed up with the Munich Symphony Orchestra to produce IBIZA SYMPHONICA which honored the legacy of the iconic island that's been dominated by dance music, and 2021 has brought even more from them as well. Milk & Sugar kicked off 2021 by looking to Qubiko to remix their track "You Can't Hide From Yourself" while Brokenears took the reins and remixed "House Dimension" as well.

Keeping everyone grooving to the beat the duo also returned to their own imprint for the release of "All I Need (Is Believe)" in March while offering up a sampling of sounds on their Miami Sessions 2021 mix to further showcase the power of house music. Now, as they set their sights on the release of Purple Disco Machine's remix of Ibiza anthem "Let The Sun Shine" on April 23, they've turned the dial up a notch with a mix to feast your ears on.

The spring months are here and with them comes warmer weather and plenty of outdoor action for those who have been cooped up over the past few months. Paired with the higher temperatures and sunny days are increased vaccination rates that further propelled the positive vibes for the future as many house music lovers begin to make their way back to the dancefloor. But if you felt you lost your groove over the past year of no shows, have no fear because @Casmalia will get you dancing again.

This San Diego-based DJ and producer has been on quite a rise in the scene over the past few years. In fact, Casmalia was intent on not letting the doom and gloom of 2020 get her down as she delivered a number of sensational releases on labels like House of Hustle, Box of Cats, Insomniac Records, and mau5trap, to name a few. And this year she's only further proven her prowess in the studio with tracks like "Worth It" on Space Yacht's Tech My House Vol. 1 and "Talk To Me" on IN / ROTATION's Rotate Vol. 5 among a flurry of other originals and remixes.

As shows begin to return to the forefront of everyone's mind, Casmalia is ready to showcase her skills behind the decks at some of the scene's most beloved nightclubs and festivals. Having kept her talents honed with recent appearances at venues like The Midway SF, we can only expect some greatness during her sets in the near future as she teased that live performances are in the works. But until then, she's spun up a mix filled with a ton of IDs that will have anyone busting a move and craving more. Give it a spin, you won't regret it!

As house music continues to thrive around the world, artists have let their creativity flow and are making an impact with some sensational releases to further propel the genre forward. And if you're someone who loves fresh beats and a deeper dive into the house realm then there's no doubt that rising stars like Elliot Fitch are the ones you should be paying attention to.

Elliot Fitch has already begun to cause quite a stir in the scene with releases like "Feels Good" with Marc Volt on Club Sweat and two collaborations with Husko, "Desert Sun" and "Baby," which landed on Glasgow Underground and Toolroom. Those releases in 2019 and 2020 set the stage for what was to come in 2021, and the Dutch newcomer impressed already with "The One" in March.

Now, as the warmer temperatures lead to lifted spirits, Elliot Fitch has delivered another fresh single for house lovers to feast their ears on. Out now on Make Em Move, "Lift Me Up" isn't just a solid house heater but also marks the first signing of a solo producer who isn't the imprint's founder, Kideko. As the sound of house and techno continues to dominate speakers around the world, a fresh crop of DJs and producers are looking to carve out their own space in the scene. One of those artists is Cespedes who is carrying some techno heaters in tow. While this Miami-based artist might be a new name to some, his roots run deep in the local rave scene as he's dived into the sound of the underground through the Ground Zero collective as well.

Amidst the pandemic last year, Cespedes kept lovers of the underground sound satiated with livestream performances on Twitch while also unveiling his single "Absence" to the masses. And he's continued that energy as shows have begun to make their return in 2021, having already played in support of artists such as Simon Doty and Cosmic Gate while also delivering "Dark Moon" with K!KO at the begging of the year. More recently, he left listeners stunned with his latest tune "Distance" which found a home among a flurry of techno tracks on Heist Mode Vol. 1 and was a true standout on the compilation.

To celebrate the release of his latest single in style, Cespedes looked to take listeners on a journey into the depths of his techno sound. He's spun up a mix that's filled with some serious stunners that include Chris Rubbra's "Control," Barbosa's "Android," and Chris Waldt's "Metal Cycles." Of course, he's injected the mix with some of his own releases as well such as the aforementioned "Absence" along with a flurry of IDs that have yet to be unveiled.

As an active member of the dance music scene in San Diego, Josh Taylor has become known over the years for throwing down some fantastic performances and curating nights that are memorable. Whether he's taking the stage at venues like Spin in support of true trance legends or spinning house and techno at clubs like Bang Bang, it's a surefire bet that the set will be filled with highly curated tunes.

But Josh Taylor isn't just a DJ, nor is he just a promoter, he's also a producer as well. Last year he delivered Rise Up on Divinity that was teeming with techno tunes that grip the soul, and now he's landed his latest EP, Uncharted, on Techniche as well. His debut on the label is fitting as he's already caused a stir with his brooding techno sound that has permeated their events, and the two tracks further prove his abilities as a producer.

The techno trip on Uncharted might be a quick one, but it's packed full of energy to get your mind in the right space and the party started properly. The title track guides listeners right out of the station and into the darkness as it drives forward in a relentless manner. Then, "Cosmic Sails" enters the fray just as you're on the precipice of the void, dropping you further into the alien-like soundscape that Josh Taylor has constructed.  

To celebrate his debut on Techniche, Josh Taylor looked to go the extra mile and spun up a mix to showcase his newest tunes and high level of curation. Since first emerging on the scene over a decade ago, Roberto Surace has continued to hone his craft both in the studio and behind the decks to create memorable listening experiences. This Italian DJ and producer consistently shows off his passion for dance music by delivering solid releases in his growing discography while also taking the stage at iconic clubs and running his imprint, SURA Music as well.

The past few years have seen Roberto Surace really come into his own with releases that include "Joys" on Defected and the Ice Cream EP on Superfett, while he also dropped "Something Nice" and "Don't Blame Me" as self-releases in 2020. Now, he's set his sights on dominating the scene this year with "Don't Know" and the Papi EP leading the charge and his latest single, "Cookie" landing on Sonny Fodera's imprint Solotoko.

When creating his new tune, Roberto Surace looked to The Melody Men to lend a hand as well. This production team is made up of two women, Dyanna and Lou, who have made a name for themselves in the scene with their success on labels ranging from Toolroom and Armada to the aforementioned Defected. And with its funky drum patterns and soul-fueled vocal hooks "Cookies" further proves that these three artists can make some magic together in the studio. It's the perfect track to play while vibing out by the pool and catching some sun, and Roberto Surace is celebrating its release with a mix that will get anyone grooving to the beat.

Everything released on My Techno Weighs A Ton is top-tier. Earlier this year, the label released the, 2021 Weight Loss compilation featuring a wide variety of talented artists including Casmalia, Confessor, Beth Lydi, and the label's co-owner and A&R, Reginald. Formerly known as NiQW, Reginald is a rising techno star that’s piquing our interest left and right. Not only has he left tastemakers impressed with his compilation single “Perfectly Balanced” with Severi Laine, but his latest releases are the ultimate summer festival jams. 

Reginald recently collaborated with Joedan on their two latest singles “Get Funky” and “Witches Brew,” on My Techno Weighs A Ton. Unique in production, both singles instantly make you want to dance and move your body. The soulful grooviness in “Get Funky” ignites a fire within and keeps you dancing to that hypnotic melody. It’s the perfect jam for any techno set, while “Witches Brew” possesses sensuality and high energy. The seductive vocals and heavy pumping melody are simply delightful to the ears. 

"Joedan has always been one of the artists I've been looking up to my whole career and I nearly s*at myself when I got like 15 demos from him for My Techno Weighs A Ton. From there on we've been in touch regularly and we've always been talking about collaborating," Reginald said about the two tracks. "I asked him to send me projects and he sent me two: "Witches Brew" and "Get Funky". I polished [it] and added my spice to tracks in like two days and it was done. We've been holding on to the tracks for over a year now to wait the right time to put them out and now we feel the time is right when people are flooding the dance floors again and the summer heat is starting build-up."

With all this heat coming from Reginald, it made sense to have him create some magic for you. In fact, the hour-long mix is bound to leave you on cloud nine, because it did for us. But enough of the small talk, it's time to let the music speak for itself!

One of the hottest duos in the techno scene right now is Belgrade-based duo Soko & Sev. These two have been rising through the ranks and taking no prisoners along the way with releases that are immersive and perfect for those peak hours of a warehouse rave. Last year, they delivered some sensational releases in the form of the Bassiani EP on Playoff and The Beginning EP on Reload Black Label, which kept their growing fanbase satiated while shows were put on pause.

This year, Soko & Sev arrived in style and carried on with delivering some seductive beats in the form of the Dark Soul, Helium, and Perception of Reality EPs. More recently, they delivered an absolute heater called Escape From Earth that showcased their authenticity as artists, which is exactly what makes this duo one to watch. Marking their debut on Codex Recordings, it featured just two tunes in total but both brought alien-like soundscapes across their seven and a half minute runtimes.

Now, Soko & Sev are celebrating the release and further proving their skills as storytellers by spinning up a fresh mix that is filled to the brim with their original tunes including "Tension," "In My World," and "Last Stand" to name a few. Since first emerging on the scene nearly a decade ago, Cyran has made name for himself with sensational tunes in the realm of bass music. First appearing on Circus Records with his remix of Mizuki's "Block Party" on Circus 2.5 back in 2013, he quickly became a mainstay on the label who has continually showcased his meticulous production skills. Tracks like "Bass Machine," "Make Em Say," "All The Time," and EPs such as Work and Vacation Away, as well as remixes of tunes such as Flux Pavilion and NGHTMRE's "Feel Your Love" caught the ear of fans around the globe.

In the past year, Cyran has utilized social media to its fullest potential in lieu of live shows and became a phenomenon on TikTok. You even may have come across one of his viral videos of him playing keyboard on a beach or in a guitar store if you're someone who has dived headfirst into the app. But now with brighter days ahead, Cyran is ready to bring on the warm weather and beach days with his latest single "Take You Where It's Sunny" - the perfect summer jam that embodies everything we love about the incoming season.

Being a self-taught pianist, Cyran is always incorporating fun melodies into his tunes and you can't help but have a smile on your face when you throw on a track of his. When you talk about legends in the house scene, Waze is one who should be part of the conversation. Over the past two decades, he dominated the decks at nightclubs and festivals as half of Waze & Odyssey while releasing countless tunes that have ignited dancefloors and caught the ear of tastemakers around the world. In fact, if you've probably heard tracks like "Set It Off," "Down With Tha," and their remix of "Bump n' Grind" booming through speakers, or even caught "Always" which dropped last year.

This year, though, Waze looked to finesse his skills as a solo artist and released his first track for the masses to consume, "Games." Unveiled back in May, this heater is yet another solid jam from the maestro as he offers up stunning piano house grooves and a beat you can't help but move your body to. To take the track to the next level, he looked to London-based singer FABER to provide some vocals that are truly electric. And if you're looking for a fresh twist on the tune, check out the Clapton Club Mix that's absolutely sublime as well.

To celebrate the release of this massive tune and showcase his solo skills as a DJ, Waze threw down on the decks and created a mix that's perfect for the sunny days ahead in the rest of spring and summer. Speaking about the mix itself, he said: “[I] had a lot of fun putting together my first solo DJ set as Waze a few weeks ago. Strictly one for the floor, it features some producers and artists I’m loving at the moment including Shermanology, Kettama, Jaden Thompson, and more. Also getting an airing is the Clapton Club Mix I’ve done of my new single "Games" which YOUSEF dropped at the Circus test event a few weeks back. [It] was amazing to see the video of it going off!"

As for the future, Waze mentioned that he's been busy in the studio working away on "a load of new music and some special edits for my sets.” So make sure to stay tuned as "Games" and this mix are just a taste of what's to come from this legendary artist in 2021.
