Mula's "Basa Pïrata" is a deep dance  & progressive house track inspired by native american spiritual music. "Basa Pirata was the name of a place in Amazonia close to Iquitos (Péru), and very close to my heart !" tells us the french artist from Besançon. I guess it was something inevitable: after starting with DJ’ing two years ago, I started producing now as well. And I guess I must thank Philou Louzolo for that. In the podcast Bakkie Bakkie I heard him talk about how he produced his album on just a laptop, one track even in a bus shelter. After hearing that I downloaded some software and to be honest I didn’t sleep much since. 

Now after little more than two weeks I uploaded my first track to SoundCloud. Probably when I look back on it in a couple of years - or even months - I would like to do a lot of things differently, but that’s exactly why I put it online. It’s part of the journey I started, and I would like to encourage you to do the same with whatever you like. As one particular sports brand would say: just do it.

The track is free to download for anyone by the way, because I like to share. And okay, because I stole a small sample from the amazing track of the same name by The Prodigy.

From 103 to 121 bpm in four hours and I loved every minute of it. You don’t often get the chance to play a set that starts at the beginning of a festival and ends in the evening when people are ready to dance. At the beautiful Georgie’s Wundergarten I got that chance and I’m really thankful for it.

I started really slow when the sun first peaked around the corner, and while people started showing up I picked up the pace towards a full dance floor during the last two hours of my set. It’s what I love to do most: creating a journey while pushing and pulling energy to and from the crowd.

Fun fact: there are eight of my own tracks in there and I never played that many of my own productions in a set.

I had the pleasure of doing the Pre-closing, in which I gained all the energy on the dance floor with a slow tech Set. The crowd gave me so much power, that I wasnt able to not go nuts behind the booth. So, here we go. Enjoy the mix as much as I did.

Wie und wo sind die Originale entstanden?

“El Camino” ist meine Interpretation eines andalusischen Flamencos. Ich liebe den dramatischen und majestätischen Klang dieses Genres. Für mich spiegelt er die Atmosphäre der Weiten Zentralmexikos perfekt wider. Die Idee zu “Agua Azul” kam mir im Südosten Mexikos. In den früheren Maya-Gebieten gibt es Flüsse, deren Blau so intensiv ist, dass sie fast unwirklich wirken. “Agua Azul” ist ein Versuch, diese Klarheit einzufangen.

Alem-i Adastra - Gods (Anatolian Sessions Remix)

Hypnotizing melodies, bass and percussion blended in a deep tribal mix, that’s what gets Ed Noodle going. From downtempo sets at sunset or sunrise, to an energetic train rolling you into the night: in any case the goal will be to keep you dancing with prehistoric power.

Ed is at his best when he takes the time to tell a story, relying on the right tracks and buildup for that exact place and moment in time. A craft he honed at gatherings like AfrikaBurn and Midburn, which fit his sound and energetic presentation like a glove. This brought him to events like The Gardens of Babylon Festival, Secret Brunch in London, FAME by Kater Blau and Harmonizz Festival in Israel.

Besides being a DJ, Ed also releases his own music on more and more labels and is co-founder of Wolvenroedel, a party pack that he started with YOИDI to get people dancing.
