Having taken over Friday Nights at B018 Beirut since 2004, Ziad Ghosn reserved for himself the top rank in the underground scene, especially keeping loyal to the original progressive house sound with his own twist of ethno-techno. 
Ziad is known for his story-telling, long, emotional sets, flawless sensual trips and deep meaningful journeys from the very first opening track till the very orgasmic last. This has resulted in notable success within his homeland Lebanon and the Middle East hot spots. In the year 2021 Ziad moved to the UAE and started a new journey in the country, filled with exciting new opportunities to expand his gift within the region. He recently joined the SohoGarden team as a resident dj.

BACKGROUND
Paolo is a DJ of mixed Italian and Australian descent. He grew up in London where he discovered DJ-ing in his early teens just as house and techno sounds from Chicago and Detroit were exploding on the club scene in the late 1980s. He started DJ-ing with school friend Ben Bodie who went on to become the Head of Ministry of Sound's publishing division. "Our early forays were pretty humbling, we borrowed an old sound mixer from school and each had a turntable and would spend many a weekend hunting vinyl around London's underground record stores and practicing our skills on the decks". After early gigs around London's Chelsea and the West End, Paolo became a permanent fixture at the legendary White Party beach parties at Bagno Pennone Beach Resort in Forte Dei Marmi in Italy.  

THE WHITE PARTY (SYDNEY, AUSTRALIA 2002-2011)
In 2002 after 6 months of travelling through South East Asia, Paolo settled in Sydney where together with Dan Mor and Michelle Latoza, set up The White Party in Sydney. The White Party (Sydney) grew from a small private party amongst friends at an apartment in Rose Bay to one of the largest and most sought after word-of-mouth events in Sydney. Paolo co-organised the event which took place 3 to 4 times a year and catered to up to 3,000 guests. The White Party had a number of exclusives such as being given the opening night for the launch of Justin Hemme's Ivy precinct. Other venues included Tank, Luna Park, and The Argyle. Paolo was the resident DJ at The White Party which hosted a number of international DJs such as Carl Kennedy (GBH, New York) and Jonathan Ulysses (Space, Ibiza). Local Australian DJs, Corin Hansford and Bill Fragos soon also became permanent fixtures at The White Party (Sydney). The ethos of The White Party was all about creating an inspirational journey of sound and light the moment you stepped through the door - a creative experience more akin to a night of hedonism in Ibiza than just another night on the local club circuit. DJs were chosen who could best capture the most progressive and avant guard sounds in dance music whilst still being able to capture a full-on party atmosphere. DJ Bill Fragos was perfectly placed in this respect - he had set up SoulGood, Australia’s first radio show exclusively focused on House Music. He regularly hosted a Who’s Who of the biggest global DJs on his radio show from established giants like Erick Morillo, Roger Sanchez, Sandy Rivera as well as more underground names like George Morel, Pirupa, Chus & Ceballos, Nice7, Tom Stephan (Superchumbo) and Hot Since 82 (Daley Padley) amongst others. 

TODAY
Today Paolo is based in Zurich (Switzerland) and is available to DJ for occasional private events.

INFLUENCES
Key influences: Dave Dorrel & CJ Mackintosh in the late 80s, Jeremy Healey in the 90s, DJ Sneak, Roger Sanchez, Erick Morillo and Wayne G in the early 2000s. Today, I am most inspired by Black Coffee, Lee Burridge, Guy Gerber, Damian Lazarus, Jody Wisternoff, and Yotto.

MY DJ MIX SERIES
Beats for Distant Lands is my mix series where you can see the influence of Black Coffee, Lee Burridge, and Damian Lazarus - with a strong focus on Afro, Tech and Latin house. The Dreamland Series reflects my interest in the progressive yet organic deep house sounds of the AnjunaDeep label. My Deep & Soulful mix series is as the name suggests more of a Soulful House sound but with a deep and edgy vibe. My Souled Out Mix Series is a more traditional funky and soulful house sound with occasional disco house elements. My Stepping Back In Time Mix Series is more of a retro and downtempo flavour. Finally, you’ll also find all the mixes played at the various White Party events in Sydney from 2002 to 2011. Enjoy! :o)
