Our cover of "Search & Destroy" by Iggy & The Stooges happened accidentally in mid-Novemeber as we were walking down the street, humming a melody that we thought was going to be a new original song. Within a few hours, it turned into a cover. We were feeling very distressed about how current events had us and many of our friends feeling shattered about the future; about the coming year, and who would be in charge of all of us. Would this mean war abroad? Would this mean more struggle here at home? It felt appropriate to revive a song that was originally written about a very turbulent time in American history, and re-dress it for what we're going through today -- except to end it with a touch of hope, and belief in ourselves and the presence of good will. The Hundred In The Hands can now announce the release of the first single taken from their upcoming album ‘Red Night’. The 12” single is due out on   May 28th via Warp Records. The vinyl will include an original B-side, ‘Mountains’ as well as remixes from Andy Stott, Patten, and two reworks from JD Twitch. The anthemic “Keep it Low” has a driving rhythm that underpins Eleanore Everdell’s seductive and wistful vocal turn and Jason Friedman's echoing guitars and spiraling atmospherics building the song from its melancholy beginning to a fever pitch.
 
The Hundred in the Hands chose remixers who’ve inspired them, the band says “We were listening to Andy Stott’s ‘Passed Me By’ and “We Stay Together” EP’s a lot as we started the record. So many good ideas and textures, with low end in the extreme that kind of rattled our minds a bit. When it came to looking for people to remix, he was first on the list. The legendary Optimo duo have been such an influence on so many artists in recent years, and in maybe too many cases we end up liking their versions a bit more than the originals. We just had to ask. JD Twitch turned in two versions, each unique and equally epic. We couldn’t make up our minds so, we stuck them both on. We’d been hearing bits from Patten and got excited. It’s hallucinatory, uneasy and fractured. Pretty much everything we like. “Mountains” was a track that was written totally in the flow of the album but still just couldn’t fit in, it just wouldn’t play nice with the other tracks and just became its own beast of a thing. This seemed like the best place to let it out.”
 
The band are also due to showcase their new material at Hoxton Bar and Kitchen on 31st May.

With this we'd like to present to you the Two Guys In Japan EP :

On the originals, the nu-italo duo provide us with upbeat vibes, flowing with smooth and beautiful synths and solos, really taking us back to that golden 80s era with convertible corvettes and soaking up the sun.

On Remix duty, we have the space disco master himself, FM Attack, providing us with that vintage cosmic sound, and really proving that love can be anywhere.

Lazercat &amp; Shawn Mac mix things up providing a deep, melodic sound with a touch of italo-prog to give it that refreshing sunny vibe.

Last but not least, Sare Havlicek &amp; Le Pimp provide us with a retro and upbeat sound, highlighting the original elements and adding a 70s style touch to it to seal the deal.
