Dallas, Texas producer Cygnus has made a splash on Lost Control 2097, a new label from the long running Manchester and Berlin-based party of the same name, and who hold an NTS residency helmed by Black Eyes. We're premiering 'Manchester' below, a nod to the Lost Control party that has been running at the infamous White Hotel in Salford for the last eight years, with plenty of electro crunch under its belt. "The label itself is our new extension of the party in which we travel through a portal to and from the 7th dimension," a press release from the imprint states. "Specialising in plasma house, sub-aquatic electro and cyber-netik techno all brought back from the year 2097. The party always had a hedonistic approach and that comes through with the label too. Never following trends, following its own path for the future. We are a family and want you to grow with us."

since my childhood beuys has been present, as inspiration, as confrontation, as ancestor of my parent's art endevour as their teacher, as a thinker, a painter, a craftsman. in a couple of days it would have been his 100 birthday. as problematic his televisible heroism and his political aspirations were, his work is of soft and delicate beauty, touching children's hearts as well as those grown up. 
i remember sticking reed branches into the earth of a path near a lake somewhere as my first concious thought of an artistic practice, remember my first visit to berlin and the typical small constructions sites with its laydown of materials, remember the long hours i spent in palazzo regale in the k20 in düsseldorf discovering a secret mirror-passage behind a vitrine - a lot of presence for a dead man. a hiatus of thought to whish the felt love to his works transmits back into what he knew. happy birthday beuys!

the image is from a 1982 whiskey commercial beuys did in japan in order to promote his 7000eichen work, the sound is from the beuys piece jajajaja - nenenene from 1968, upright bass and piano by me. (apparently beuys was inspired by the lamentations at a funeral he visited, but it is also a very niederrhein sound, a very distinct regional narrative style. it is an hour long, but the variations never gets boring i think). anyway have a nice workers day and don't burn my house down please.

Psychic Liberation presents “Friendly CSA Compilations Parts 1 & 2”. A compilation in two parts consisting of artists orbiting the PL canon from around the world in an effort to raise funds for Roots Unbound Friendly CSA.

Roots Unbound (RU) is an abolitionist grassroots organization based in Brooklyn offering nature-based programming centered around food justice, therapeutic horticulture and ecological disinvestment to people in the NYC area with a focus on supporting and uplifting people impacted by the carceral system.

Friendly CSA is a cooperative, agricultural initiative that was mobilized to respond to the food apartheid within New York jails and prisons. Roots Unbound sends care packages of harvested produce that are
chosen by incarcerated folks via a newsletter sent out every month, by growing and collaborating with local New York City land stewards. This CSA is provided at no cost to the recipients, funds raised for this CSA will be used towards packaging, postage, printed materials for newsletters, and a P.O. box.
