C023 - Simple Symmetry - Sorry! We did something different

The first release of Escape Artist’s new imprint is a various artists affair brought together by the power of friendship. After years of being sent amazing music by new and old friends from near and afar, the time has come to share this joy with the rest of the world. As a label, we will seek to shine a light on psychedelic music of all designs and the first release will focus on the dance variety. It is the label’s hope that the love and friendship that brought this project together will shine through in the music. 

Grim Beazley’s ‘Acid Leaf’ evokes a memory of crowded peak time floors. The song’s gentle introduction gives way to powerful 303/909 interplay and leaves us yearning to go back to that place.

Snippets invited Ksky, Komartsov and Ellipse, who are already known for the label listeners. New friends from Belgrade - Cosmic G and Laars with a collaboration novella «Trancia», Maksim Polivanov from Motorama under the moniker Neporyadok and his «Jewel Box» and one of the most productive musicians in St. Petersburg — Rambal Cochet, also known as Volta Cab. FINA Records co-owner — Corbi, interesting duo who released their first vinyl on Gated Recordings this year — not even noticed, and the last but not the least is superb selector from Kazan, Tatarstan — Enfant.

Terra Magica Records, a micro-label from Munich, starts with its first release in Sept./Oct. with a 4 tracker 12".

Masterminds Mirko Hecktor & Tom Sprenger present Social Rub with two tracks of Hektisch Sprengen DJ`s on side A. The tracks are called Social Rub and Dancing Dust. Both tracks are full of great diversity and different electronic genres inspired by African Roots Music, Japanese Rituals Sounds and TR-808 Grooves.

On the flip side internationally reknown DJ Normal 4 (Warning, Aiwo rec.) will deliver a remix treatment for ‘Dancing Dust’ called Normal 4`s Liquid Lifespender MixX.

Fully tooled for club use, the remix navigates through early UK-Rave, hypnotic Trance with an electric sitar anthem lead and Breakbeats while keeping up the Ethno touch. There will be another remix on the
B side by DJ Chrysalis (PP, Head Rush ENT.) from Down Under
of `Social Rub‘ called PDQ Remix which is nestled between dreamy and acid influences.

Gates--formerly known as Gats--is a producer, DJ, and performer based in Berlin, Germany.

His music is a unique blend of psychedelic dance music with references to different kinds of micro-genres from the past 60 years. A boundless approach to sample exploration with an eye on both the analog and digital world, Gates' work expresses the freedom of eclecticism.

The upcoming release Gates - Opium Voice is part of the one-track single serie on his own imprint Suçuarana Records. His debut Ep was released in January 2023 on Nein Records.
