Jonas Saalbach’s prolific career in electronic music has seen more than a few milestones. From youthful beginnings as a live-only performer over dozens of eps on premier labels to the release of three studio albums and the inception of his own imprint Radikon in 2018, the Berlin producer has pursued his musical vision with uncompromising fervour. ‘Headlights’, an 11-track album set for release on his own imprint, feels like the summit of a decade-long climb to the highest echelons of electronic dance music.

With ‘Headlights’, Jonas has created his most personal and mature work to date, free of the criteria of producing for an external label. His newest coup is a no-frills translation from mind to melody that showcases the inner workings of Jonas’ auditory universe in the most honest way possible. Nostalgic, longing, introspective and wildly emotional, ‘Headlights’ strips away all distractions; a pure love for dance music is all that remains.

Once a young producer who hypnotized stages around the globe with his energy and joie de vivre, Jonas today has crafted a platform that takes his art to the next level. After a decade in dance music, ‘Headlights’ is the pinnacle of a musical journey and perhaps the most powerful achievement in a storied career.

Our next release comes once again from our good friend Marius Drescher. After his hit „We Had It All“ in 2020, Marius strikes back with his new EP "Hunter". The title track „Hunter“ is a powerful, melodic dancefloor bomb for those ecstatic peaktime hours. Following with „Memory Lane“, Marius shows us his talent to combine nostalgic soundscapes and driving grooves. The third and final track of the release is called „Shadows“ and closes the EP with a vibe of darkness and flickering lights.

Moonwalk kick off 2017 in their usual style, unrolling the first production effort of the year in the form of three original tracks and a collab with label mate Teenage Mutants.

Komet comes in swiftly with a low end throbbing bass, setting a murky mood. The duo apply one of their hallmarks, developing an uplifting winding groove that is equally enveloping as it is relentless, making for a great build-up track.
Recalling a celestial atmosphere, Abstract offers an upbeat tech house exploration featuring alert arpeggiators and an optimistic melody.
Odensa, a coop with Teenage Mutants emerges from the same dark standpoint, laden with earworm synth loops and a sunken bassline. While the combination provides a steady backbone, the groove is leavened by a chordal countermelody that seizes the main focus.

By far the gloomiest track of the bunch, Vite sees Moonwalk and Teenage Mutants join forces and intersect styles in a buzzing banger full of familiar elements. A paced rhythm, rave pads, dubby stabs and subtle kicks craft a relaxed, yet effective build-up. Moonwalk and Teenage Mutants’ knack for deep tech flourishes and synthetic tones finds perfect expressions in this EP, ranging from low to high energy heaters fit for any set time.

Sol Selectas is very proud to welcome Kincaid for his first solo EP titled Marlow’s Trail. The young producer from London gives us 3 unique original tracks, each one taking us on an immersive journey. The songs have a powerful African tribal feel, continuously progressing grooves, and a psychedelic destination. “Marlow’s Trail” the opening track, as well as the title of the EP itself, is loosely based on concepts from the classic novel Heart of Darkness. The main character Marlow travels deep up the Congo river in search of a mysterious man, with every turn becoming more and more surreal. “TFLLFT” refers to the transport for London, or the Tube, and is a personal tale about the artist himself losing his identity, then finding it again, all while riding this magical train. And finally “Rattle” refers to a serpent in the jungle along this wild path, with the metallic percussions creating the backbone for the song, and its trippy arpeggios leading us out of the darkness.

The artwork by Helia Jamali visualizes the music, taking us along for the bizarre ride through the safari, encountering wild animals, mystical nature, and finally the snake itself.
