NSS is led by musicians Love Lokombe and Bom’s Bomolo, having previously founded KOKOKO. This new project continues the contemporary Congolese tradition of reinventing electronic music by shaping and crafting music instruments made of household objects.

Iboto Ngenge means “power struggle” or “seizing the opportunity” but while words can only be roughly translated, the music reaches listeners unambiguously: A potent mixture of techno, rumba, soukous, zagué and dancehall with the unique “Kinoise” brand – the city that never stops innovating in the music landscape worldwide.

As a means to continue strengthening the links between Africa and Latin America, Eck Echo has tasked Colombian dub engineer Diego Gomez (Dub de Gaita) with the analog mixing of the stems, originally recorded by Levy David at Timbela Ba Studio in Kinshasa. With the aim to bring the lexicon of shared Colombian and Congolese music into the next chapter, we proudly present to the world the magnificent music of Ngwaka Son Systéme.

As a little girl, Sandra Zegarra Patow AKA @20unas moved from Lima to Rotterdam with her parents. The latin’s music comes together in her DJ sets connecting with her roots. This compilation represents a blend of the miscellaneous sounds during my time in Curaçao. The journey begins with a slow and sensual pace, taking an unexpected turn with elements of bass, cumbia, neoperreo, and future beats. As an artist, I enjoy pushing my own boundaries. Crafting mixtapes allows me to transport listeners to a different realm than the one experienced on the dance floor. One of the most successful Italian drum & bass acts from the last decade, Was A Be turns to a new page of his artistic journey, retaining his signature sound and taking it to a wider spectrum of styles.

Highly precise and technically proficient, Was A Be delves deep into the darker shades of techno and electro with two original tracks. The two tracks also get the remix treatment by Reveries mainstays Noroi and F L V X X X.

“Hallucination” is a dark and seductive techno track that moves sinuously between sophisticated sound design and echoes of rave that certainly come from Was A Be’s expertise within the realm of drum & bass. “#10”, co-produced with Kiu D, goes on the opposite direction. It’s an electro track particularly reminiscent of the old school b-boy era from the 80’s, but with modern sound design and aesthetics. On the remixes, Noroi takes “Hallucination” down an even darker path, exposing its foundation through thunderous jersey club thumps. F L V X X X instead goes for a hyper speed ghetto blasting attitude, dabbling with Dance Mania aesthetics and updating it with modern uk-inspired sonics.

Once again, a track for every type of DJ and vibe out there. Whether you’re playing at a dimly lit elegant bar early in the night or in front of a packed ecstatic crowd during peak time, there’s something for everyone: the way Reveries imagines and configures its ideal of contemporary clubbing.

Hakuna Kulala is excited to share with you this compilation of works and collaborations, result of a 2 year residency program titled "Afropollination" between artists from Mali, RDC, Rwanda, Uganda, South Africa, Tanzania and artists based in Germany, many of whom from African descent. The aim of this project was to create cross pollination effect between different artists, cultures and disciplines, fostering community, friendships, collaboration and inspiration and of course new music and art. As works continue to develop, here is a first compilation of works produced by the artists in residency.

AFROPOLLINATION is an initiative by Piranha Arts and Boutique Foundation / NYEGE NYEGE in collaboration with MS Stubnitz , Singeli Movement , Modaperf , Yoke Collective , COSMO Radio, Pussy Party, Morphine Studios, Festsaal Kreuzberg , CTM Festival and funded by the Fonds TURN2 of the Federal Cultural Foundation of Germany (Kulturstiftung des Bundes).

Born in Northeastern Mexico and influenced by her Palestinian heritage, Loris grew up listening to classical Arabic music without understanding the language. This exposure to Arabic music influenced her to later mix fragments of Arabic and Latin culture using electronic music. With her productions, Loris unites the multiplicities of her cultural identity.

A part of the electronic party scene in Mexico City, she has shared her sound at numerous local club nights, including national and international events. She also curates a series of parties called Zoco, which brings new sounds of the diaspora from the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Latin America.

Andre Louis Hicks (July 5, 1970 – November 1, 2004), better known by his stage name Mac Dre, was an American rapper, and the initial founder of Thizz Entertainment, and the now defunct Romp Productions. On November 1, 2004 Hicks was a passenger in a vehicle driving on a freeway in Kansas City, Missouri when a gunman shot at his vehicle. The driver crashed and was able to get to a phone to call 9-1-1 but Hicks was pronounced dead at the scene from a bullet wound.

In his relentless quest for musical transmutation, El Nomada birthed his very own beast: Junglaton. This sonic chimera brazenly mates the frenetic tempos of Drum and Bass with the seductive grooves of Moombahton, spawning an auditory hallucination that blurs the lines between reality and madness. The result is a sonic pilgrimage that transcends sanity and leaves listeners awestruck by his audacious foray into uncharted terrain.
