As one of the most highly regarded producers of his – or any other – generation, Sandy Rivera’s place in house music history is already assured. Recording under both his own name and his legendary Kings of Tomorrow moniker, Rivera’s unparalleled creativity and gift for forging timeless house records have placed him in a league of his own, and without him the house landscape would boast a far less richly coloured vista. 
For many, Rivera will be best known for the seminal ‘Finally’, Kings of Tomorrow’s magnum opus and a record that stands as one of the finest vocal house record ever made. Released on Defected Records – a label with which Rivera has enjoyed a staggeringly fruitful relationship over the years – ‘Finally’ still resonated more than a decade later. However, to only know ‘Finally’ is to merely scratch the surface of Rivera’s exemplary catalogue.

In years to come, Sandy Rivera will be looked back on as one of the true greats to the scene; a pioneering artist whose passion for house music is continually realised in the music he creates. For now though, with the 20th anniversary re-brand of Blackwiz just around the corner and the re-launch of his seminal label Deep Vision, he’s still busy creating his legacy: long may he continue.

Christian Stoynev (better known as Christian Craken) is a DJ/Producer and Label Owner born in Bulgaria. Christian begins his electronic music journey in 2010 after releasing numerous DJ podcasts on the popular Bulgarian platform, Vibes Radio. Not long after his first steps as a performer, Christian Craken starts making his own beats too. Nowadays, Craken releases quality underground music on significant digital labels such as Senso Sounds,Dark Face Recordings,Jannowitz Records,Phobos Records,DENSE Audio, Bully Beatz,Rubik's Recordings, Plazma Records, and his own imprint PHOBIA Music Recordings. After successful productions released in very short term, Christian makes his solid breakthrough and performs alongside artists like: Victor Ruiz, Tomcraft, Cosmic Boys, Maksim Dark, Dani Sbert, Eric Sneo, Gaga,Mateo!, Stiv Hey and others. His appearance at some of the major Bulgarian clubs and events has become prominent in the last few years and yet is more to come.

I hope my music enables my fans to project themselves fully and freely in the face of norms with scant regard for validation and by so doing share in the deeper value that such freedom of expression can bring. 

I hope through my music and presence to show that traditional or conventional identities aren’t necessary in order to widely engage our desire to feel understood and free of suggestion.

My key message is that my aims never change - better songs and better lyrics that are from the heart - and through that - the inexplicable moving of our souls. If our souls stop feeling, then that day for me, it would all be over. 

My focus is the songs, combining the power of music and lyrics to move and add meaning as people have always done.

Hurts is my first commercial release. It's a down-tempo electronica track with a bit of a twist that explores relationships and asks why does love morph from pleasure to pain and what are our roles in that process. Do we "earn it" or somehow even deserve what happens? Stylistically I guess you could think of Lorde, Bjork or Imogen Heap although I'm inspired by the full range of musical experience. Artistically my inspirations are Gorillaz, Banksy and Maureen Selwood.

I have worked with amazing musicians and producers on the track and I prefer to remain private and reclusive as I have always tended to be. "Growing up I had a very idealised version of myself and how it was all going to be.. It turned out nothing like that and after trying many things the only things that remained constant for me were poetry and songwriting. These were the only parts of my life where I persevered long enough to gain some modicum and sense of of self.”

Hurts was produced in NYC by Arthur Pingrey and Chris Halac and mastered by Joe La Porta at Sterling Sound in Jersey. I hope together we are able to connect virtually, avataristically and explore our sense of self together. I hope you find Hurts’ expression of suffering softens guards, helps heal wounds and nurtures a modicum of modern harmony.
