there was a mall that was in a rich people town that i went to often to get a free lunch. in the food court they had a "wishing well" fountain. These folks wouldn't just fling pennies in this thing, they would leave whole quarters. I collected enough to buy myself something to eat, and no one stopped me! Are those stolen wishes??

This song is an attempt to be a bit more upbeat and introspective and less slow and introspective.  Its inspired by a lot of 90s alternative rock that I listened to as a teenager, I tried to capture the same dreamy, shoegazey vibe  that music had.
