Over the last couple of years, various Evil Clown ensembles have included more & more electronic elements.  One of these components is the Ableton DAW which is really great for building mixes of samples from the Evil Clown Catalog.  I extract samples from the many recordings of the Evil Clown ensembles and record new ones at Evil Clown Headquarters.  I then prepare the samples with Signal Processing in Adobe Audition and then assemble a mix in Ableton.  In performance or recording sessions, the prepared mix is run through the entire session, and I mix it in and out with this goal:  about 25% off or very quiet, about 15% to 20% strongly present in the mix, and then the rest present but in the background.

I am a trumpet player, guitarist, keyboardist and play a variety of other instruments including laptop and iPod. All my works are original. Most of my work is new. My primary projects are Blast Radius, a loud freeform music journey; my solo keyboard explorations; and Resonator, a solo pro/post-metal project. I am also a member of the PEK's Evil Clown collective. playing in the Leap of Faith Orchestra, various incarnations of Leap of Faith, Turbulence, Metal Chaos Ensemble, Simulacrum and Mekaniks. Also currently a member of the trio Apropos of Nothing with Marc Drinkwater and Mike McCaw, Neksys with Eric Zinman and Mike McCaw, and Field of Blood, a duo project with Eric Zinman. I am also a member of Fable Grazer, a collaborative free improvisation collective. All work for these groups is spontaneous and through composed. I am looking for gigs: live(as Resonator, Blast Radius, or solo keyboard), scoring or whatever. I am willing to work with collaborators, musical and working in other audio and physical media including video, projection, dance, and also as a sideman. Multimedia is also in the future. I have started bulding my own instruments and will incorporate these into my work. There are also composed pieces, improvisational pieces, some more traditional tunes in various genres and old stuff. Some is pretty raw. Other work otherwise. The sounds reflect my eclectic and wide-ranging influences tastes and otherwise. Some work will be totally improvised. Some very composed. It is all within my purview of what music is.

I have guested live and recorded with many groups over the years in many genres, recently among others with New Language Collaborative and Metal Chaos Ensemble. I have played and studied trumpet for decades and guitar for the past few years (I consider myself a primitive self-schooled guiarist at best) as well as keyboard. As much as I am here to present my music, I am here to discover what others have to offer as well.
