	With Mathew Ferness’s latest EP for Russian underground label GLBDOM, the Canadian producer delivers three low-key, melodic, yet highly stimulating, deep House cuts. Across the EP, Ferness straddles the line between emotive and cerebral dance music. The result is a deeply rich and gorgeously lush set of tracks, one that seems poured over in its detail, but also highly idiosyncratic and explorative in its execution. 

	Despite his more experimental urges, there’s a gentleness and ease to Ferness’ music. The second cut on the EP, “Tomorrows Kids”, features distorted vocal samples of what sound like young kids by a windy beach. What easily could have been used for much creepier effect actually affords the track a warm and comforting tone, like the memories of a carefree summer as a child suddenly enveloping you. The beat is jaunty and uptempo, the synths dramatic, but the track never feels as if it’ll careen over the edge. Ferness establishes a kind of house-of-mirrors structure throughout, as the central melody repeats over and over, the vocal sample emerging and receding exactly the same each time. 

Rather than growing tiresome or redundant, however, the track’s cyclical structure underlines its nostalgic tone and invites the listener to more deeply immerse themselves in its rhythms and melodies. On this track, Ferness manages to tap into the feeling of a sudden rush of a memory of easier times––of innocence and youth––that you feel in no hurry to leave once it’s arrived.

Following his sultry contribution to our six year compilation, SNFSS016 sees Tour-Mauborg provide a blissful journey through the most uplifting corners of house, making stops along the way at Italo, Balearic and cosmic disco. 
 
Whilst the two jubilant opening tracks set the tone for the release, ‘Interdub’ is driven by hollow percussion and sees the record at its most stripped-back. On Dub 003, he teams up with French house connoisseurs, Cosmonection and Marc Bianco, on a warming deep house track, oozing with groove. Finally, to complete the record’s joyous exploration of house styles, hypnotic melodies energise the two closing tracks and capture the transportive allure of the Belgian producer’s music.

PREMIERE: Unknown Artist - Caught Down [Chikyu-u Records]

Berlin-based Peer Du has crafted a dreamy, luxurious sound in recent years, which is no wonder why the Haŵs crew have summoned him to unite with their ever-budding family tree. The Welsh label and party-starters have been quietly watering their roots throughout the previous months, and with its latest re-potting for its fourth EP comes a provocative collection of tracks that slink outwards from the ether like a polychrome, sonic mosaic.

The final track on the release, “5 AM Interlude”, reaches out for minimalism with a trusting hand – and its softly clutched back through the interlocks of old SNES samples and scarce productions that allow each element to breathe and flow. Bonus points for guessing which game the sounds were lifted from.
Peer Du’s “For Those” EP is like watching an expert tailor nimbly thread the eye of a needle with a gossamer fibre before effortlessly combining together textures, colours and adornments without once making a wrong movement.

A couple of years ago we premiered a track by Jeppe Wolmer, taken from the 6th release of ØEN REC (@oencph). A year later we were onboard again when we featured the brillant work of Adam Emil on the Various Artists named "Islands in the Stream".

So yes! Yes we are big fans of ØEN Records and when we discovered this new gem produced by En Anden we knew that we had to say something about it. "Ting" is the debut EP of this Copenhagen-based artist, who goes under the moniker of Lazer (@lazert) when on the DJ duty. Wanting to express a simplistic and naive sound, he has taken inspiration from Italo Disco's quirky synthesizer themes and 90's house tight drum and stripped-down productions.

We are delighted to premiere the last track from the EP, a beautiful deep house remix by local talent DJ Popup (@why_u_poppin), the man behing the NES label project (@noc_e_space). This one has the typical sound signature that the Danish scene has become known for. This is an instant favorite and a smooth club tune for the early hours. 

The EP is release digitally only, with a limited edition poster and t-shirt made by T L S.
