Ambient & Experimental summer - fall 2024

Corell is a moniker of Roman Kutnov – producer, composer and sound artist from Moscow, Russia. During the last decade he worked as a solo artist as well as being involved in collaborative projects ranging from indie-rock bands to improv and contemporary academic music collectives. Having an art background Roman works with artists, performers and choreographers providing music for multimedia installations, dance and theatrical performances.
In 2017 he started Corell - a cross-genre project with the focus on ambient and experimental electronic/techno music. In his works he attempts to find a distinctive sound through combining polymetric beats, atmospheres, textures, mutating and morphing loops and rhizomatic composition structures.

These are the 2 first hours of my Chateau Perché Set - the come back after the lockdown - and a crazy energy and absolute bliss that I'm already missing! I definitely lost myself to the dance floor at this place. Was a huge family pleasure to play after @niju-1 and before @elmagomusic and @andiandean . With mistakes and experimentations this set it's almost a restart after 2 years and a relearning of how is it to be in front of a real audience again. Thank you for the invite @akanordin and @perchepolis-label .  

And a curious happening was that I had recently discovered @temple-tears amazing music and he came to the stage to say hello as I was playing his track <3 

Note about the intro: The poetry is from chilenean artist Catalina Tello part of her project "Universo Umame" which I had the pleasure to contribute with my voice.

I hope this Set can bring good summer memories to the winter arriving. :P

Kotoe @ Chateau Perché 2021 / Les Hautes Ruines

Julián Andrés Restrepo Buitrago, Manizaleño.
Arquitecto, escenógrafo, DJ y productor. 

Desarrolló su sonido en Bogotá  desde 2017 donde se vio influenciado por las fiestas de bodega, lanzó dos trabajos discográficos con fuerte influencia del techno industrial pretendiendo evocar los paisajes de la calle capitalina (’El olor del asfalto secando’ 2019 y ‘Aventuras de la caracas’ 2019)

En 2020 vuelve a su ciudad natal para construir un sonido más maduro que explora sus raíces con el paisaje y la naturaleza. Durante la pandemia lanza sencillos con sellos colombianos como Underzone y Exotérmica, además de un EP con RAW QUARTER sello bogotano con residencia en Barcelona, España. 

En 2021 lanza sencillos de forma independiente, Esta última faceta, explora sonidos que van desde los breaks, hasta el fast techno con influencias de Detroit, El footwork de chicago, el acid y el trance.  Fusionando paisajes sonoros de su entorno, con percusiones sincopadas y fuertes bombos. que crean atmósferas espaciales y melódicas. "

F-on, the alias of Alfonso Pomeda, is known for his profound progressive sessions with long mixes, creating voyages through experimental music, ambient, and dubby techno. His productions are 4x4 experiments at a low tempo, incorporating field recordings, timbres, textures, and cinematic structures. He is a resident at Alpenglühen and Taiga sessions and co-owner of the label Antimatter. Additionally, he runs the Alpenglühen label, which focuses on deep and ambient techno, exploring the line between light and darkness.

Mareena, the founder of Unrush, met Alfonso at the Mostra Festival in Barcelona un 2023. Their connection through music was immediate, making it natural to invite him to Unrush…

EMC welcomes Joan Gila!

Joan Gila, a vinyl enthusiast, is the curator of @hoc-radio and also manages a small cassette label focused on ambient, avant-garde, and experimental music called @red-edge-label. He is part of the duo @binomi with his friend @slim-jordi.
This DJ set was recorded in Madrid at the Temple event, curated by @machines-desirantes and @javier-camunas, which takes place at @espacio-perpendicular, an intimate venue with exquisite sound. This particular set is Temple 03 featuring @hardcore-chillout, and it's an exercise in mixing and merging an older record from around the 80s with a new one, playing with them in such a way that the listener doesn’t know where they are.

[Este episodio forma parte de una emisión radiofónica paralela que tenemos en Ivoox, de la cual ni damos publi en las RRSS ni colgamos por aquí con el ánimo de encontrar un nuevo dicho de audiencia. La hemos encontrado, y estamos tela contentos de poder frikear sin límites diseccionando esta maravillosa música que es el ambient. ¿Son necesarias las etiquetas? Pues depende de para qué. Si es para determinar si alguna pieza musical debe ser escuchada o no hablando esta por delante de la música, pues no, además de no ser necesarias cierran muchas puertas de placer sonoro y "obtusan" nuestras curiosidades . Muy distinto es apoyarnos en ellas para intelectualizar el sonido, identificar corrientes, conocer los instrumentos que generan, la naturaleza de su fuente de inspiración e incluso categorizaciones fuera de lo tangible y lo cuantitativo.

En este programa especial recorremos los subgéneros más destacados del Ambient. Para ello se ha diseñado un organigrama Ad hoc, tan obvio por un lado como distinto a todos los demás por otro. No se nos ocurre mejor manera de hablar de música que regocijándonos en los matices sonoros que esta ofrece, ejemplarizando sus paradigmas con sublimes tracks y dejándonos llevar por ellos para relatar contenido al hilo propuesto.

Un episodio de disfrutar mucho, suena un musicón de escándalo (como siempre) pero que esta vez habla más allá de su propósito principal dibujando a nivel sónico el género como si un de un árbol se tratase, personificándose cada subgénero en ramas subyacentes al tronco aparentemente condenadas a no cruzarse… hasta que las hojas que brotan de sus puntas se rozan zarandeadas por el viento de nuestra escucha y vuelven a su punto común de partida, el género Ambient.
