pi pi pi premiere: Teqmun - Diploria Coral (Sann Odea)

Toronto-based producer and DJ, Daniel 58, makes his debut on Electroménager with a four-track club-ready EP. Taking cues from trap and dancehall, the Canadian artist showcases his taste for trippy sirens, intricate drum patterns and low-end heavy frequencies.

An edition of 30 clear lathe-cut dubplates will accompany the digital release.

Bait's first various EP format release 'Baby Steps' is an exploration of steppers: pounding four to the floor kicks, organic percs and an overall 'elephant march' feel. Featuring tracks by five French producers, Strasbourg-based Orchid (half of or+be with Bait founder Beatrice M.), Bruxelles-based Moriiiis J., most-known for his broken-beat project Kuna Maze, as well as Quasar, whose name is well established in the dubstep world with releases on legendary UK labels such as Artikal and Deep Medi to name a couple. Agôn (Few Tips/Trajectoire) & Céline B. (Technorama)'s collaboration opens a door towards the more abstract and contemplative side of bass music with influences such as Shackleton, perfectly closing 'Baby Steps' VEP.

2023 has been a great year for Bradley Hutchings aka Guava. Alongside many successful dance singles and remixes, his self-released debut album ‘Out Of Nowhere’ is a gorgeous blend of indie electronica that steps away from his typical club focussed productions. 2024, however, sees Guava move back towards the dancefloor with his latest EP Afterglow, which drops on Faux Poly on March 8th. Since rooting himself in Berlin, Guava has drawn inspiration from across the different facets of the city, something that is strongly reflected in this release.

The opening track ‘Angel’ is a dark trip, born out of experiments with reverb and guitar harmonics influenced by UK Bass and Dubstep, an ethereal techno track described by the artist as “guitar music for Berghain”. Next up is ‘140 Drums’, an essential DJ club tool, a chopped stuttering break and hoover bass roll through a restrained but surprisingly heavy hitting finale to the EP.

‘F641’ accelerates with continuously pitching synth stabs and a rumbling low end. Inspired by F1, the track hits hard and never stops ramping up. Finally the title track ‘Afterglow’ brings a lightness and warmth to the release, delicately catchy and rooted with a bouncy house beat, the sound of Berlin in Guava’s productions is unmistakably clear.

A producer that delves far and wide into the leftfield corners of electronic dance music, Noti is not shy about experimenting with a palette of colourful sounds and structures that work seamlessly, whilst also nodding to the old school aspects of dance music.

'Numbers' is a self-explanatory, high-energy bop unlike anything you've heard before. Packed with ear candy, bouncy drums and hypnotic vocals, this one is a surefire way to get heads turning in the rave.

'Bring The Bass Back' is a track that feels reminiscent to early 90's underground dance music - glittered in catchy samples and squelchy synths that will never leave you bored.

3 years after their debut, Lyon-based collective Silence Collapse are back with a new compilation featuring some of the finest producers on the French music scene.

Keeping with the collective's original philosophy, ‘VA II’ mixes styles and energies, bringing together 11 tracks of varying shades. From Dubstep to IDM, the compilation offers a wealth of sound that best represents the musical eclecticism defended by Silence Collapse.

VA II will be available on 24 January on Bandcamp and all streaming
