How Come You Never Go There

a sleepy, snowflecked remix of Little Smokestacks by Faux Fix. 

I ended up adding beats, bass, guitar and cello. I only realised when it was finished that due to some strange discrepancy between my settings in cubase and the original stems this version is about (though annoyingly not exactly) 12bpm slower and roughly three quarter tones lower than it was written. Serendipitous. Dream.

Folk pop singer-songwriter Elizabeth Cornish doesn’t tell stories. Instead she gives you a tantalizing glimpse into her world and invites you to fill in the gaps for yourself.Following a number of studio releases with her band, “Where Were We Then”, her first home recorded album, sees Cornish return to her musical roots as a solo, acoustic artist. While her debut album, “Displaced” dealt with her struggle to make sense of her nomadic upbringing, “Where Were We Then” is an expressive journey about enduring love, personal loss, and grief. Inspired by folk, country and indie-pop singer-songwriters including Laura Marling, Lucy Rose, Jason Isbell and John Moreland to name a few, Cornish effortlessly weaves elements of these genres into her delicately crafted songs while remaining undeniably true to her artistic origins as a through and through singer-songwriter.
