Super stoked to realise a goal and present my first sunrise set from a stage I helped design and build under the power of the full moon at my final music festival this summer. It was fun to focus on downtempo and global bass vibes as we transitioned from the dark of night into the rising dawn, and I was happy to capture my live-looped vocals, didjeridoo and percussion on the recording. Been awhile since I made a mix. Been going through some massive life shifts lately. Decided to put out a mix, since music is a form of therapy and helps me process emotions. This mix is full of tracks that really embody the changes we all will experience in our lives: heartbreak, growth, death, and sometimes just uncertainty. In these moments it’s important to remember that when things fall apart and life seems confusing, all things are possible and you will find yourself & the ground beneath your feet again. Being human is complex and making mistakes is part of growth. Remember to forgive, love, and be patient with yourself along the way.

Astronox Festival in Texas, October 2022. A rare thing occurred - I got to play a two-hour closing set at the end of the insanely inspiring lineup of Saturday night, before a morning sound break. There are some major wiggles in this set, of the crunchy/glitchy variety, in keeping with the flow for the night. Ending with some gentle touches, like a sonic hug.

Elkemist is a multi-instrumentalist DJ who plays multi-genre dance journeys rooted in mystical sounds, supported by live looping with didjeridoo, vocals and percussion. He also facilitates a weekly ecstatic dance in Nelson, BC called Dance Wave, as well as co-hosting regular community ceremonial gatherings.
