To be free, means to be a freak. Whether as a DJ, label manager, T-Shirt creator or all-round talent – since two decades, Ellen Allien is one of Berlin’s exceptional phenomena that have created her own universe with the combination of old school-based underground love and contemporary experimental spirit. After the lovely musical affair with Thomas Muller for the track „Free Nation“, for her new solo release we hear the anniversary bells ringing. The three tracks – which are co-produced by Martin Eyerer and Skinnerbox – already mark the 300th catalog number of BPitch Control.
The „Freak EP“ is not only the result of the last months in Berlin; it also flags up the change to Ibiza, where Ellen uses the warm season to spray her positive vibe during her residency in DC 10. „Butterfly“ acts like the kick-off and not only host graceful 808 pinpricks, with the dreamy melody in the background a nostalgic aura raises that reveals Ellen’s warmer side. Especially the bass rumble emphasizes the physicality of her music in an impressive manner – in short: pure love. „Come To
Me“ is desire and passion within seven and a half minutes. In addition to the deep house frame groovy beats pushes in the foreground that sets free a hypnotic mantra. Spineless dancefloor magic that rewinds time with the haunting rave signal, floating Roland synths and the SH101 raveline. With the title track „Freak The Night Away“, Ellen once more succeeded in creating a hymn that embodies both the slogan of every great night as well as the strong atmosphere of her energetic DJ sets. Again, we hear Ellen’s charming voice – crazy, playful, creative. Following the motto: just go! With rattling claps and a warm bass, dancing won’t become a compulsion; the track clearly goes under the skin with its 303 acid hints as well as Roland piano sounds and opens the gate to another dimension. Having already being singled out as an artist to watch out for in 2018, Will Easton presents his debut release on W&O Street Tracks with a fine triplet of tracks on the “18 Month Free Trial” EP.

The title track has notched up radio play already from the BBC Radio 1 team of Annie Mac, Pete Tong, Danny Howard and Monki, as well as club support from the likes of Patrick Topping, Solardo and Waze & Odyssey, and it’s not hard to see why.  “18 Month Free Trial”, with its irresistible ascending synth riff, bumping groove and shuffling percussion, is a fully formed and fully road tested dancefloor heater!

“Take It To The Bridge” mashes up rave chops and rasping bass as Easton ramps up the BPMs; snare rolls and old school piano stabs make for one hell of an industrious production, whilst on “Karma”, arpeggiated keys and vocal refrains are joined by a hefty bassline and driving drums for a real ‘hands in the air’ house moment.

Release text:
After OW001's maiden-voyage into outer space, Outworld now takes us to the underworld courtesy of label head Klangkuenstler's 'Balthazar' EP, which marries raw peaktime-power with claustrophobic-come-ecstatic atmospheres, served over the course of four tracks.
The devil's dancing on the title-track: as serrated off-hits shatter on tough kicks, a wicked saw-riff begins to drill through the drums as if summoned from Hades. In contrast, the bass-driven body and pulsating sinus-tone of 'Zorn Amons' grind like teeth as they build in tension. A moment of illusive release comes with 'Das Schattenreich', on which the reverberating, fast-paced percussion
runs for escape, hunted fiercely by a meaty trance-lead. On 'Jenseits', though, Klangkuenstler pulls us back into purgatory, showcasing a dramatic end to a carefully crafted and devilishly fun EP of rough club bangers.

Brimming with creative energy, Ellen’s new LP AURAA follows her 2019 release Alientronic, and is her third album in three years. Raw, emotive and capable of transporting you from reality to an electrofied fantasy, AURAA explores the notion of unseen energies controlling our planet.
