Opening night at Wonky Town was a vibe and a half, the space was a wonderland begging everyone to come play full to the brim with games, interactive installations, a cosy lamp lit lounge and all sorts of other shenanigans 

It was an honour and a privilege to play on a purpose built stage compliments of the festival and Fulcrum Designs in lieu of Sheila no longer being with us - May she forever rest in bass...

Also worth noting for full transparency and celebration of my musical journey that it was my first time performing live directly on the decks sans laptop and controller which was a whole new world in terms of convenience but all wrapped up in the kinda nerves I thought were behind me

Looking forward to continuing the learning process, experimenting with the weaving and manipulating of sound drawing inspiration from those in the know around me and as always with the highest level of gratitude and respect for the original creators

There is a lovely quote about art and how it is the way we choose to decorate space, with that considered then naturally music is how we can decorate time...This conjures up thoughts and visions of being some kind of metaphysical interior designer of sorts?!

It pops into my mind often as I think about curation for any given event or opportunity to share the music that I love, I think of the physical space, those who will likely seek it out and the kind of experience they might like to have depending on time or circumstance...

When given the honour to warm up the stage for Opiuo, Jordan Dennis and Mood Swing & Chevy Bass at The Princess Theatre last month I felt a lot of feelings! First there was excitement, pride and shock which was closely followed by fear, harsh self judgement and doubt all tainted by a solid dose of impostor syndrome.

But when I stepped outside of my mind for a minute I genuinely knew that I could do it, I had all I needed to set the tone and style the evening decorating both time and space thanks to the beautiful music that had already found it's way to me.

Now on the other side of the experience I am pretty damn proud and so so grateful for all the friends who made the extra effort support me in their own special way whether it was during the lead up, in the flesh on the night or the days and weeks that followed as I reflected on it all

I have since enjoyed so many rich conversations about the art of performance from those in the know farther along the path than I am now. It has provided me with comfort, perspective and hope for the future as I anticipate a greater sense of ease to eventually be possible for me on stage.

As always my deepest most heartfelt thanks to the original creators of the tracks selected for this offering, each and every one of them has been recognised by my soul as the medicine it needed at any given time...an inner intelligence at work that is far beyond the scope of my imagination but much appreciated all the same.

My 12th year performing at Priceless was the most fun I've had yet. Thank you to all of the planners, volunteers, and attendees that make Priceless happen. Deep gratitude to the musicians who made the music in this set, especially previous Priceless guests El Búho (@el-buho), David Last (@davidlast), and Rumpistol (@rumpistol). 

Special shout out to my forever inspirations for Forest vibes - Ganucheau (@ganucheau) and Dr. Toast (@drtoast). It still feels like everything I do with music is trying to do for others what they have done for me.

Setting the tone for the day ahead at the Boombox Stage on Sunday at Earth Frequency Festival was an absolute deeeeelight!

Morning Mojo, a much anticipated maiden voyage collaboration for The Shady Lady and Blossom Medusa merging their shared love and devotion to Meditation, Yoga, Music, Dance and Tea giving the people what they so desperately need by day three...a cuppa, a spangle informed stretch sesh and a thoughtfully designed soundscape to ease everyone into their day.

We were also so so spoilt on the day to have Cecilia Caleandro join us for the last portion of the set winding everything down to an eventual Sivasana Serenade with ethereal vocals, harp and flute leaving us all in the floatiest of moods. Alas this was not captured and stored as a recording on the day but the memory will stay with all who were there to behold.

The first and last chunk of this set is best enjoyed taking it easy in a cosy, comfortable position with soft or even closed eyes if that’s something that feels good for you then allow the music to be the guide. The pace rises and falls again with many worthwhile messages to be absorbed throughout and a Hare Krishna/Coolio remix you probably didn't know you needed!

The tracks selected were already well and truly adored by at least one or both of us but now have found themselves etched even deeper into our souls and psyches, destined to always be treasured and remembered together as though they belong. Never Stop Dancing is a mix series dedicated to all those who find themselves locked in the groove, time and time again. To those who find themselves eyes closed, lost in the music. To those who say "one more song" more than once. To those who live for the collective joy, community, and boundless self-expression of the dance floor. To those who never stop dancing. This mix series is focused on amplifying the sounds of DJs and producers in the Kootenays and British Columbia who honour the rich tradition of house, disco, and techno in their sets.

Never Stop Dancing 12 is a playful mix by none other than Kootenay veteran, mother, and all around wonderful human, Lady V. Lady V has been a staple of the Kootenay underground scene for many years. Her signature chugging yet driving sound consistently captivates dancers, locking them in a deep, bouncy, hypnotic groove for hours on end. Many moons ago, I stumbled across Lady V playing a set at my favourite stage in the Kootenays, and thought to myself, “this is it – this is the place.” Since then, I’ve had the pleasure of getting to know Lady V, and have grown an appreciation for her humility, kindness, and passion for her tasteful, slow-house sonic journeys. Her selections always transport me back to the blissed out mornings at the open airs in Köln. Her Never Stop Dancing mix is a seamless, groove-laden journey that’ll have you wanting more. Enjoy!

I have been blessed to host a night of the Chill-Out stage the last couple years at the best little festie that never happened here in So Cal - The Gathering.  As the party is hosted by the impecacble Chino Sound, I get to play pretty bass music the way it was meant to be experienced.  For the 11th year, I ended up playing a 10-hour set, but as luck would have it, my recorder only captured the first ~6 hours.
