Techno sets

Jeroen van der Want also known as RON L, is a Dutch DJ based in Gouda, The Netherlands and a resident of the Rotterdam-based organization Embodiment. 

After years of actively experiencing the Dutch techno scene, Jeroen was becoming more and more drawn to that world by the long-lasting feelings of fulfilment and belonging that he experienced after every event. His love and passion for the music made him take the next steps into starting his journey as a DJ.

Inspired by artists like Speedy J, Luke Slater, Function, and labels like Dynamic Reflection, Pole Group and Illegal Alien Records, RON L has crafted a powerful blend of driving, loopy and hypnotic sounds, which is often best experienced during the peak time of the night. Nowadays, Jeroen is using the Pioneer DDJ-1000 controller, where he has the chance to work with 3 or 4 decks and express himself even better through complex intense atmospheres.
So far Jeroen had the chance to play for the Amsterdam-based Orphic crew, Frameworks in his hometown Gouda and Embodiment in Rotterdam alongside Rene Wise and Somewhen. 

To Jeroen being a resident of Embodiment means that he is in a trust-worthy environment, where mutual respect is a ground rule, and he feels supported to grow musically and push his limits, which in turn will allow him to give back to the community by sharing his knowledge. In the future, he hopes to get the chance to perform more all around the Netherlands, but also internationally.

Each track carries its own pulse – from ghostly echoes to fractured signals, from static horizons to drifting subwaves. Together they form a cinematic journey through shadow and light, rhythm and silence.  

A continuation of the Atmos Minimal series, “Second Wave” delivers deep, meditative, and psychedelic techno energy for those who seek pure minimal sound.

It’s been a while since we had the pleasure to listen to his sound. Luckily the wait is over and our needs will be fulfilled as our resident RON L will provide us with a refreshing new episode of EMBDMNT SALON. 

We all know RON L for his peak time oriented sound, but over the last couple of months he challenged himself to dig deeper which resulted in, as he describes himself, ‘his most personal set so far’. Focussed on a sound which caused a lot of us to fall in love with techno in the first place, he addresses a nostalgic feeling that isn’t often experienced these days.

A member of the Bender collective in Paris, AIR-ONE is a DJ who has been asserting himself on the LGBTQ+ techno scene for several years. It is through his travels and nightlife that he gets inspired and creates his own sound identity.

His cold and dark techno bewitches the audience and swings the bodies with the help of percussions and melodies. He leads the dance on a mental techno where rhythm is the master of the steps.

His goal is to hypnotize you along his set!

Codeword is delighted to host @Alfredo-Mazzilli, a rising star of contemporary European techno. The Italian producer and DJ has made a major impact in a short space of time, with acclaimed releases on A R T S @artsltd (including his recent “Limitless” EP), Planet Rhythm @planetrhythmrec, Edit Select Records @editselect and @suara. This has led to gigs at clubs including @KHIDI, Griessemuhle, Gare and Vurt as well as in Japan, Colombia and the US. Mazzilli’s 1h mix for Codeword on @threadsradio oscillates between deeper textures and dancefloor pounders, giving a flavour of the raw, intense energy that permeates Mazzilli’s output.
