Fernando Sanz aka @orbeartist has been steadfastly dedicated to the craft of beats and breaks since he was a young sprout of 14 years in the sun baked southern Spanish port city of Algeciras. Under the imprint Orbe Records, Sanz has cultivated his own thriving techno community as artist and label head. Since 2014 Orbe Records has been lashing the block rocking techno of Sanz’s comrades Eduardo De La Calle and Steve Stoll, but mostly of Sanz’s own prolific moniker, Orbe. As DJ and producer Orbe keeps the mood surreal and dreamy while deploying understated drum machine patterns to hammer the platonic solids that keep his beloved community in tact.

The energy of the room got me hooked and locked in the zone as few times before.

When I found out that my friend @jason.etal had recorded almost the whole set in his phone, I couldn’t resist and I decided to include the voices and everything was happening live (in the background) as part of the recording - the raw vibe of the room.

Shoutout to @voicedrone , @jamesnewmarch , all the artists of the night, the UNFOLD crew for making it happen and of course all of you who made it so special!

It’s time for the 33rd upload already. This podcast is recorded by another DJ/producer from Sweden, but that should be no surprise. Efraim Kent is not a producer that releases many records. We got introduced to his music through a couple of tracks he released with Dorisburg on Tikita. The Moroccan label might be one of the most refreshing upcoming labels if you ask us. Keep an eye out for more Efraim Kent. There’s more to come!

Endless ways. The dazzling spines rise high and can be seen very well in the fog. In the buzzing haze your heart speaks the same language as our blue eyes. Abstract forms accompany your steps and float energetically around. In the distance I see others who are not like me. They walk in a different direction. But I hurry on full of joy. Have you seduced me so much? 

The young artist Willy Parker ist based near Frankfurt. His love for drone, ethereal and dark-driving sounds raised rapidly and soon he started to produce his own beats. His joy in experimenting is just as big, which is why the genres Ambient and Experimental did not remain undiscovered for long. Willy and his partner created the art and music label SOPTIK. Definately one to watch. Enjoy his vision.

What strange times we find ourselves in, friends. It feels like the world was a different place when we published the last episode of our podcast — just one month ago. Today, we have a much-needed hour-long mix of gloriously dark techno from the Frankfurt-based producer @willyxparker. You might recognise him as one of the co-founders of the music / art label @soptikorg, and from his appearance on our compilation ‘Coping Strategies for Progressive Persuasions’, which we released last week (https://soundcloud.com/unknown-movements/sets/coping-strategies-for-progressive-persuasions). Akuma, who was born in Heidelberg and lives in Mannheim, stands for the symbiosis of groovy, mystical, sentimental and aggressive sound, which he has established in the local scene for quite some time with his collective "Raserei" and as "This is Techno"-Gotec Club resident.

His selection ranges from synth- and percussion-based grooves to ruthlessly driving industrial techno and melancholic passages, breakbeats, always carried by rousing, captivating rhythms and enmeshed by dark atmospheres.

Hitam, a name dedicated to his roots and also the highest possible way to experience music in combination with dance. As a resident of Eerste Communie and a lover of the dance floor, he began his musical journey under the name Optics. Under this alias, he released several EP’s on labels such as Dynamic Reflection and KSR. Just before the summer he decided to change his artist name to Hitam and pursue an image that is closer to him as a person. He has now planned no less than 3 releases for the month of November. You can expect a solo EP on Secession, a collaboration with Temudo on Immaterial Archives and a split EP with Yant on the fast-growing label Platform 22.

All of this brings us to his neat podcast for SALON. He starts by showing a deep and aggressive side of himself with technical highlights, after which he chooses to give the listener a breather with a somewhat warmer, rounder and more organic sound. This versatility says a lot about him as an artist and is the perfect way to kick-off the last series of 2020.
