For the next episode of SALON we’ve invited Greek DJ and producer VÅGH. The last couple of years he has been focused on shaping his disctinctive sound while keeping a genuine artistic approach. This hard work paid off as he managed to put out music on labels such as Dynamic Reflection, Casanova Bar Berlin and Suara.

For his podcast for SALON he decided to start off with an atmospheric and minimalistic approach focused on welcoming the listener and guiding their mindset into the right direction. Once the direction is set the rhythm intensifies and the listener is drawn deep into mind bending sounds. Combining this with a stomping low end one can be certain of unleashing that inner fire.

Also known for his work as one half of the Syntaxism duo with releases for Warm Up, Evod, Mind Trip and Hayes Collective, Davide Maio AKA Divide drops by our weekly series to lay down a trademark two-hour sample of his tried-and-tested matrix-hacking savoir faire. Playing ping-pong with your mind throughout, from the deepest layers of 303-marinated squelch onto Boston Dynamics-worthy programming, the Italian producer ushers us in an ambiguously rugged and sleek, raging and zen-like continuum of sound. No straightforward answer to be found here, it's all Divide and rule.

After a solid streak of atmospheric soundscapes it's time to shake things up with complex rhythms and experimental sound design. In this new episode we have the pleasure to welcome DJ and producer Lucien Biscop. Lucien Biscop is one of the residents of the London based On the 5th Day where he has proven himself to be a versatile artist with a sound that can be narrowed down to deep, driving and experimental. This preference in sound can also be heard in his work as a producer as he shared his first output last year on the label Kombinat Records.

We asked Lucien what inspired him to record this podcast, about he had the following to say:

"For me this mix was a sound and rhythm exploration. I spent a lot of time experimenting with my productions during the lockdowns, both from a sound design and drum programming point of view. In this period I refrained myself from buying more hardware as I really wanted to push myself to use what I already have to the fullest. This approach gave me new insights which in a way also affected the DJ side. I really enjoyed playing with the contrasting vibes of these tracks and I hope to soon be able to do the same in front of a dance floor."

Originally from France, based in Berlin, @Perfo_20 launched his project last October (2020) with his first Ep on Madrid's Koryu Budo label and will be back on it begining of 2022. With a keen sense of commitment and a hard-working attitude stemming from his background in the world of sports, he is now solely dedicated to his musical passion. End of the year Thibaud will make his debuts on Awry Records, label run by Wrong Assessment.

The French artist uses a in-depth knowledge of old school rhythms and merges them with an " avant-gardiste " and trippy style. His motto : Hold the tension, hold the dynamic.
