2022 has been particularly challenging in many ways and Canaanite Records would like to thank you all for your support.

For the last fragment of the year, we'd like to welcome Vand.

Established in Amsterdam, Viktor has dedicated almost a decade to playing and experimenting with electronic music. DJ and Producer he is now mostly affiliated with the ISOTOOP collective, helping with transmitting their unique sonic identity. Today, Vand is delivering a beautiful selection of deep electronic music. Driving slower and deeper he is introducing us to his world.

"For this inaugural edition of Temple, another new adventure alongside Josephine, I approached the set in a natural way, with only a few secure tracks and others chosen from many I've selected over months but haven't played for one reason or another. Given the volume of music circulating nowadays, my premise is mostly not to repeat them, a manifestly failed attempt to give visibility to so many creative and talented agents.

Horizontal listening events are my favorites. If we add that they are among familiar and new faces, it is in these moments where we can unleash our imagination without complexes and in a comfortable environment. If, in addition, it is playing at home, as is the case at Espacio Perpendicular, the result is perfect.

"With closed eyes, I'm transported to a forest, surrounded by the scent of pine and wet grass. Sunglasses on, I settle into a camping chair as the psychedelic downtempo beats of the second day at Parallel Festival unfold. Feeling completely at ease, I sway to the music, and later, I rise from the chair to float, ensuring this magical moment becomes a cherished memory."

In each performance, she skillfully mix a harmonious fusion of tribal rhythms, dub, ambient, down-tempo, mid-tempo and electronica. We are delighted to begin the year with a mix from ASIP (Ryan Griffin), the founder of A Strangely Isolated Place - a label and mix series that has become a cornerstone for contemporary ambient music. Inviting him felt long overdue, and we couldn’t be happier to share this contribution from someone whose work continually inspires us. For this mix, Ryan delved into musical memories, crafting a journey filled with nostalgia and influences. As he beautifully puts it:

"Thank you, Mareen, for the invite to your series. This mix is full of nostalgia, some Balearic undertones, and classic approaches to ambient electronic music, without an agenda. It starts to speak to some major influences on me over the years. Growing up on 90's electronic music, influential summers in Europe, and the formative years of early 00's IDM and electronica. If Unrush is self-described as 'a serene space within the mind that is free from the encumbering stresses of daily life,' then this is music that always helps me get there."
