The latest Deep Mind Music mix is a special one put together by Thailand's Sunju Hargun, as all tracks in the mix are his own productions from his Extans Mantra series. I've been a fan of Sunju's incredible Siamese Twins label since it began, and his prescient talent as a DJ, curator and producer makes him someone I'm very inspired by, and grateful to know.

This mix is a deeply healing and meditative journey, which takes the listener through immersive drones, twinkling acoustics and hazy, mystical pads, as Sunju envelops us in his sonic world. As the mix unfolds, a soft sunset slips into a warming indigo darkness, descending gently into the infinite depths of inner consciousness. There, we are washed by gentle waves of hypnagogic resonance, allowing us to enter a state of reflective peace, before fluttering arps and sunlit motes bring us to the outer world again. Sunju's emotional sensitivity in programming this mix shines through, and it feels particularly personal that he also made all of the deeply moving music in this mix.

第5弾は、 カナダ出身大阪在住、Momentのレジデントアーティストの1人でもあるEnduranceのライブアンビエントセットを公開。彼のライブセットは開幕のしめ縄の儀式と同時に披露され、現地で録ったフィルドレコーディングと波形から慎重に作り上げたシンセ音で来客を異世界へと案内し、本フェスティバルでの開会式を美しく作り上げた素晴らしいサウンドを是非お楽しみください。

Archives, a new series presenting the sound of DJs and artists at Moment events, is proud bring you our 5th installment. This episode features Endurance, a Canadian-born, Osaka-based ambient musician. As a Moment organizer and label curator at the incredible Muzan Editions, Endurance has become one of the key figures in electronic music in Osaka, introducing more and more techno fans to ambient - and vice versa.
At last year's Moment, we asked Endurance to provide sound for the Shimenawa ceremony (tying of the sacred knot) that opened the festival. This ceremony symbolizes the strengthening of the bonds between us and was intended to purify the dancefloor. Using locally sourced field recordings and carefully sculpted electronic soundscapes, Endurance's set laid the ground for all the music to come, transporting listeners to unexplored sonic realms. We hope this installment in our series offers a glimpse into that special moment.

Moment Archives 005 | Endurance

For the sixteenth episode of our Herbarium mix series, we invited Endurance (@joshua-stefane), the label owner of @muzaneditions. He is a master when it comes to exquisit ambient journeys and therefore we are very happy to feature one of his beautifully told stories. 

For this mix he chose Chrysanthemum. Here is why:
I chose the chrysanthemum as the flower for this mix - specifically the Chrysanthemum / morifolium hybrid species, which originated in China and is also popular in Japan. Aesthetically, I think it is one of the most beautiful flowers, with its multitude of florets radiating from the center, or cascading down like willow branches, depending on the type. I love how such flowers can feel so complex and deep, simply through the arrangement of similar elements - and that is something that guided this mix. Using tracks from artists I love, old sound effects records from the 60s and 70s, and my own live improvisations and field recordings, I tried to layer similar or repeating elements over each other to create a complex and cohesive whole. Sun drenched musical selections await as we look to our next guest mixer. The multi-talented Japanese artist, Makiko Iwaki under her DJ alias, Iwamaki. We were happy to cross paths at Mostra last year where she played an incredible live drone set, and even happier to showcase her talents through this mix series. Much like her productions, the mix encompasses all the nuance, and emotional depth that we love in Ambient music. Hitting those poignant moments and providing space for introspection. For the next edition of Monument Waves, we are honored to welcome ASIP, which is the DJ name of Ryan Griffin, founder of the legendary A Strangely Isolated Place label and the 9128.live radio station. 

Here ASIP presents a stunning mix featuring ambient, electronica, IDM, dub techno and more, where almost every track has been turned into a loop to bring to life the idea of "waves" as loops - continuous unfolding of repetitive patterns.

“This set – like a lot of my material – was recorded in a single take. At home in the studio, I have been trying to work on tight, focused sounds that I could recreate in a live setting at a festival or ambient party, and this set is the result of those efforts. I like how the initial intensity of the set slowly recedes, evolving into other, more serene forms of the same sound.
Recorded in March 2024 with a Moog Mother 32, modular synths, and processed field recordings.”

The Observatory - Endurance (Live)

Today, we're returning to the enchanting forests of the Spanish midlands and our beloved Delayed x Perpendicular series. We're excited to introduce a multidisciplinary artist whose work continues to inspire and surprise us - Javier Marimon. This Spaniard, who spent a significant time in the Far East exploring new cultures and perspectives, has been a key figure in the international underground music scene for many years. His unique approach to dub-infused techno, halftime, and experimental sounds infuses his creative process with playful energy, evident in his music production, DJing, and graphic design.
Those fortunate enough to meet Javier in person are immediately struck by his infectious charisma and positive energy. While his music often leans toward the deeper, dubbier, and darker realms of electronic music, there's always a sense of freedom and playfulness in the way he combines elements and creates different rhythms.
With that in mind, we're proud to present this special hybrid set that Javier played on Sunday midday at the Perpendicular Festival. The set is deep and dubby, with glitchy moments and meticulous attention to detail. The atmosphere Javier crafted perfectly matched the setting, and the set remains engaging from start to finish.
The scene needs more artists like Javier Marimon, whose creative contributions continue to inspire others. We're thrilled to feature this mix.

Delayed x Perpendicular: Javier Marimon (Hybrid Live)

Naturally active person, in 2014, Nathalia founded Experiment Intrinsic – a hidden art dimension organically blended with the visual and musical imagination. A pivotal change, in which she pursued a path of deeper self inquiry and progression of sound, shifted her from the dance-floor oriented music and into ambient soundscapes. Her influences drew increasingly from experimental electronic, as well as traditional and spiritual genres. The following years were dedicated as developing the project into a dynamic and constantly evolving audio-visual platform.

[Les Chaos Ambiants]

The Pauza association presents Les Chaos Ambiants, a festival dedicated to the encounter between electronic music, the visual arts and the rich heritage of Burgundy-Franche-Comté.

This event is designed on a small scale to make it as comfortable as possible to listen, meet and move around, with a single stage to promote emerging and established artists, a natural setting conducive to the discovery of musical works and artistic installations, and an eco-responsible approach to limit its environmental impact.

The project has several objectives : to promote the European and international artistic scene, to stimulate and strengthen the cultural and creative network across the département and the region ; to help promote and showcase the natural and cultural heritage of Burgundy-Franche-Comté ; to support local produce and the local economy.

As we gently slide into Autumn and the days get shorter and evenings cosier, we are excited to share with you the next chapter of our Podcast Series by the Amsterdam-based artists Paduan 🧙🏼‍♂️

Paduan is Patric Kimman, DJ and curator with firmly rooted attraction to the deeper side of electronic music. He is most at home playing musically meandering sets filled with drone textures and subtle melodies, with hints of concrète elements and natural sounds, a sonic direction that persists both in his monthly radio show on London’s Balamii as well as the event series Into the Universes he co-curates back home in Amsterdam 🐚

Patric’s contribution to the Introspective Electronics Podcast Series is a live recording from this year’s Perpendicular festival, an annual gathering of fellow deep music lovers in the beautiful nature of central Spain. This journey takes us on a pensive stargazing adventure across vast ambient planes cloaked with blanket of dark blue sky full of twinkling stars above ✨

We Feed

Thoughtful Sunday. This one is very intense and it reflects my current state of mind. Is it overthinking or is it just my detailed reflection of all incoming impulses? The piano music that you hear has been performed by me. I invented this piece while playing and recording my piano at home. This technique is called free improvisation. This music is not based on structures, influences or even existing motives or melodies. The music is evolving in "real-time". Some people say that I am gifted with a direct connection between my brain and my fingers ;-) Please enjoy and feel free to comment. I always want to know, how my music affects the listener. I m posting new improvisations every week and sometimes even more. A good reason to follow me. I hope to come to a place near you in the near future. I am planning concerts...
