Empire Theory is a pop/rock band from Orlando. Their luscious lines and infectious beats hold a stronger purpose than to solely make you dance. Their seamless blend of thought-provoking lyrics and musical chimes aim to construct a path allowing music to precipitate social change, bringing attention to the issues that confront us as a society.

The quintet formed in 2011, after Sebastian and Jeremy left their previous musical projects in search of a change in focus. Drawing inspiration from The Beatles, MUTEMATH, U2 and Muse, Empire Theory self-released their debut EP ‘Colors’ in August of 2012. ‘Colors’ was co-produced by Roy Mitchell-Cardenas (MUTEMATH, Mirza Zaza) and picks apart the themes of love, diversity, and the challenges of pushing beyond the boundaries of yourself.

The band was selected by a panel of industry experts and members of the Recording Academy to take part in this year’s Florida Grammy Showcase. The showcase annually highlights the best rising talent in Florida. They were also semi-finalists in this year’s Hard Rock Rising competition. Empire Theory’s music is in radio rotation in multiple markets and has been used in multiple television commercials.

The band will be entering the studio in the Spring of ’14 to work on their follow-up EP and plan to extensively tour the Southeast. They released a remix of their single ‘Colors’ on July 27th at the House of Blues, with all proceeds going to SolesforSouls, a not-for-profit organization dedicated to fighting poverty.
