Magical delights await you in the ‘Garden Of 3Den’, as our two protagonists, BLOND:ISH and Rowee, conspire on some blissful and esoteric musical vibes for ABRACADABRA. In its original mix, soft marimba’s glide over a sensual beat, as memories are consolidated and made, whilst a ‘Meditation Mix’ administers maximum relaxation sounds for the mind and body.

Rowee explains; “Garden Of 3Den is built upon the marimba’s melody. This instrument brings me always such a positive energy, beautiful warm vibes. I met BLOND:ISH at Get Lost in Miami, where we were playing on same stage. I love her positive attitude and I respect her
very much as an artist, so to collaborate was such a wonderful experience. Vibe high, and the magic around you will unfold.”

This year I met a bunch of terrific people through Jogging House's Discord,
I am grateful for that.

One of them is Daniel DeWitt, who records as The Lifted Index. He has released
a wonderful album a few weeks ago - Sedna. I have listened to it every day
since it came out, it truly lifts my spirits. He kindly allowed me to sample it
for this track, for which I am incredibly humbled and thankful.

As I'd set up the loop and started recording (using the Dark Star, Mood, and Avalanche Run mostly), I left the studio to get a phone call. When I came back it was still playing with those lovely textures having changed and continuing to change ever so slightly. So I left it running and the result is this track.

The nights are getting cold and the fog is closing in. It's around this time of year that we tend to engulf ourselves in the mist of ambient soundscapes and eerie music which reflects the spirit of the season. 

Jean-Emmanuel Rosnet is a musician and creative based in the suburbs of Lyon, for many years he has run a festival called Mirage which is dedicated to new forms of media art and expression. As a musician he creates beautiful, delicate mirages himself - ambient soundtracks and ethereal music which is highly immersive and magical. 

His most recent cassette, "Stories concerning the heroes and rituals", was self released and caught our attention with it's intricate poignancy and dream like ambience. 

We felt that he would be perfect to contribute to our Monday mix series and so he does...

Ambient Meditations Vol 28 - Rutger Hoedemaekers & Nils Frahm 

For episode 28, we are changing up the format a bit with both a mix and a separate interview. Our guest mix is from the Dutch composer Rutger Hodemaekers to celebrate the release of his new album The Age of Oddities which came out on FatCat's 130701 imprint on March 5, 2021.  Hodemaekers takes you on a cinematic journey all his own, perfect for long walks in nature or sitting in front of a fire. We also catch up with Nils Frahm for an interview to talk about his new live album Tripping With Nils Frahm, which was edited and perfected from multiple performances in his home town of Berlin at the Funkhaus, which is also the home to his recording studio. Along with the interview, there will be a few selections from the new album. Very simple set-up: Fender Tele --> various boxes --> Logic.

This week's Naviar Haiku: 

slanting rain,
gentle breeze,
no need to return home

This translates into three distinct parts. The "valleys" in the waveform give away where they start and end.

Part I: Skittering clouds, downpours.
Part II: Like wind brushing past, with uneasiness creeping in towards the end
Part III: Major key mood, closing with Koto-ish textures and an abrupt ending
