This half hour long dark industrial soundscape album was created from audio recordings of the infamous Pilot Butte Park Riot in Bend, Oregon. Although these sounds have been edited, filtered, stretched and warped beyond recognition, the essence of conflict and pain still remains deeply embedded within the sonic tapestry. Part intimate embrace of injury, part cathartic destruction of traumatic material, this anguished work of audio art intentionally blurs the boundaries between ambient music, audio collage, and industrial noise, featuring no traditional musical instruments of any kind, and yet seeming to ebb and flow between pure sound and music nonetheless. 

Intrusive Legacy is a testament to just how long one terrible moment can last.

Harsh dystopian drone ambience. This experimental soundscape track, which is inspired by subversive radio broadcasts during the Cold War, contains ham radio noise, granular synthesis, a drum machine plugged into itself to form a feedback loop, layers of shifting bass drones, and dialogue samples from a 1959 Red Scare propaganda film with an expired/abandoned copyright. 

Hardware used on this track includes a Korg DSS-1 synthesizer, a Korg Electribe ER-1 MkII drum machine, a 16-channel Alesis mixer, and a misconfigured ham radio.

Inspired by the bootleg records known as Музыка на рёбрах or "music on ribs", which were cut to discarded x-ray films and traded illicitly in the Soviet Union, this industrial ambient track features crackling sounds from vinyl records played at the wrong speed, a drum machine plugged into a feedback loop ith itself, dystopian bass drones, a misconfigured ham radio, and distorted samples of dialogue from an old Red Scare film that has lapsed into the public domain.

Hardware used on this track includes a Korg DSS-1 synthesizer, a Korg Electribe ER-1 MkII drum machine, a 16-channel Alesis mixer, a 78rpm record, and a ham radio.

Inspired by the isolation and paranoia of everyday life in a collapsing system, this experimental noise soundscape features crashing industrial percussion, downsampled lofi drones, a drum machine plugged into a feedback loop with itself, and a distorted tape loop of an advertisement for the extinct Soviet department store 'Konsum' being manipulated by hand. 

The featured phrase "der Konsum deckt den Gabentisch", or "the Konsum fills the gift table", was intended to evoke a strangely consumerist notion in communist East Germany; however, in German the phrase is more readily understood as "consumption fills the gift table," suggesting quite a different outlook on material conditions in the USSR than was intended. 

Hardware used on this track includes a Korg DSS-1 synthesizer, a Korg Electribe ER-1 MkII drum machine, a 16-channel Alesis mixer, an Advent cassette tape player, and one destroyed vintage TDK cassette tape.

I have been experimenting with audio production, making music, mixing and mastering since my teenage years, serving as an audio technician, dj, performer, and live sound recordist, but I have spent most of my career as an audio producer in FM radio. I have a deep personal love for strange and unusual sounds, so my personal work comes out as ambient music, audio collage, and industrial noise. Using my collection of vintage instruments, obsolete radio gear, telecommunications equipment, dj turntables, tape recorders, and digital mixing, I explore the forbidden realms of auditory experience where traditional musicians fear to tread.
