A new era begins for ALPHA 9 with 'Calling', a collaboration featuring Brazilian DJ and producer Scorz and vocalist/multi-instrumentalist Tom Bailey.

Artem Stolyarov. Whether he's ARTY or ALPHA 9, he's always been sensational. Artem first arrived on Anjuna's radar in 2010. What followed was a stellar run under his ARTY alias: 'Rush', 'Zara', 'Around The World', 'Rebound' and 'Kate' are Anjunabeats classics, and helped define the sound of the label in the early 2010s.

Artem's ALPHA 9 alias is where he has found his stride in recent years. Focusing on the progressive trance that he fell in love with as a teenager, some of Artem's standout moments as ALPHA 9 include 'Before The Dawn', 'Stellar', 'Skin', and his faithful update of Above & Beyond and Zoë Johnston’s evergreen classic ‘Good For Me’.

ALPHA 9's energetic sets have been heard at Steel Yard, Dreamstate, Electric Daisy Carnival, Tomorrowland, Ushuaïa, Amnesia Ibiza, and Creamfields, winning him millions of fans worldwide. 

To begin the next chapter in the ALPHA 9 story, Artem has enlisted two collaborators on 'Calling': Scorz and Tom Bailey.

With over 380k monthly listeners on Spotify, Scorz's melodic, upbeat tracks push musical boundaries and transcend genres. This is the Brazilian artist’s first time collaborating with ALPHA 9.

Musically speaking, there’s not much Tom Bailey can’t do. He’s a multi-instrumentalist producer, writer and performer, and a graduate of the Institute of Contemporary Music Performance. Some might recognise him from his You Tube channel – he’s the founder and creator of Tom Bailey Backing Tracks which offers backing tracks to aspiring writers, singers and jammers. Bailey has been credited on dozens of songs across multiple genres.

‘Calling’ is only the start of a whole new chapter for ALPHA 9. Expect to hear much more over the coming months, and more new material in his set at Above & Beyond's sold out Group Therapy 500 celebrations in Los Angeles. Fans can tune in to watch via Above & Beyond's Twitch and YouTube.

I wrote this record the day after Bay-to-Breakers 2017, an annual footrace in San Francisco that began over 100 years ago. When I say “footrace,” I mean a massive city-wide party. My friends and I partied for over 12 hours, wandering around the city and spending a large portion of the day in Golden Gate Park at a huge tribal drum circle in an area called “Hippie Hill.” Seeing hundreds of people peacefully dancing, drumming, painting, smoking weed, socializing, and bringing positive energy transported me San Francisco’s Summer of Love—and the following day the song “Hippie Hill” was born.

I debuted this at EDC Vegas.

From festival favourites ‘Will We Remain?’, ‘Let Me Know’ and ‘Frozen Ground’, to the reflective moments of ‘Guru’ and ‘Eclipse’, the record took an ecliptic path through sounds of trance, house and ambient yet all tracks bore an undeniable ilan Bluestone mark.

ilan brought the ‘Scars’ tour to 65 locations across 4 continents, leaving an everlasting impression on trance fans from EDC Las Vegas to Creamfields U.K. and Above & Beyond’s ABGT300 celebrations in Hong Kong.

The closing chapter to ilan’s golden year, ‘Scars’ (Remixed) puts his songs in the hands of a trusted inner-circle of musical contemporaries.

Debuted at ABGT300 Hong Kong, German trance titans Cosmic Gate are at their brooding best, flipping ilan’s anthem ‘Frozen Ground’ feat. Giuseppe De Luca. Serbia’s Vintage & Morelli lends a 90's house twist to another De Luca record, ‘I Believe’. There are also reworks from Dutch maestro Rafaël Frost, Russian progressive star PROFF, Spencer Brown, KOVEN and ilan’s musical partner in crime, Maor Levi, who contributes three fresh mixes to the album. Rounding things off is a live studio rework from Glastonbury favourites Shadowlark, the band fronted by ‘Rival’ lead singer Ellen Smith.
