Ocaso is a regular radio show on Lusophonica Radio made with the contribution of music-loving individuals who knit and mesh different genres of music and sound works into personal and very atmospheric sessions. It is also an event series and DJ project that spreads itself from the airwaves into the real world.

For this month's mix, we welcome Maïore, a French and Berlin-based artist, vinyl selector, and curator of @preceptco. Maïore's sound is rooted in the deep, minimal, and dubby realms of electronic music, today he takes us on a journey through gentle melodies and subtle grooves, drifting between ambient and downtempo. Hello everyone, I finished some new music and it’s coming out on the 3rd October. I’m releasing this myself, which is the first time I’ve done something like this. It’s been a really long process, bringing everything together, but I believe it will be worthwhile.

I’ve been working on music much more slowly since 2020. I’ve sent new music to labels, but nothing worked out. The natural progression became to stand on my own two feet and see what happens if I release my work myself. If I like the music, then someone else might too.

Maharam is an American DJ and co-organizer of Final Passage, a Brooklyn-based event series emphasizing leftfield curation across both club and deep listening environments. Maharam's affinity for deeper sound is rooted in the melancholic landscapes of his Pacific Northwest upbringing, as well as his background as a guitarist and jazz vocalist. After moving to New York seven years ago, Brooklyn's rich DIY scene has been central to his life, acting as a constant source of inspiration and connection. In his mix for Oslated, Maharam shares a carefully crafted meditation through emotive ambient, dub techno, and textural electronics.

Hot Wave - Erebus


In this collaboration, Radboud Mens and I explore the tension between stasis and movement. Operating within the realm of drone and electroacoustic music, we construct a sonic landscape where sustained tones and microscopic events constantly shape and reshape each other. What initially appears static reveals itself to be rich with detail: tiny acoustic shifts breathe life into apparent stillness, inviting focused and attentive listening.

The album emerged from a process where sound research, improvisation, and sound design merge. Self-built instruments, the search for timbre and texture, and recordings of the learning process itself form the foundation of these compositions. Rather than following a traditional musical structure, the result is a sonic field in which the minimal continually transforms depending on the listener’s perspective. This is a layered and handcrafted album that doesn’t narrate, but questions. Marking A Boundary With The Turning Point is not a boundary. It’s an invitation to listen differently.

Driven by an incessant quest for immersion and fluidity, Enkō’s locked groove style creates a deep yet rhythmically rich performance.

The Basilar Festival resident and SUMMA founder showcases a groovier side to Lisbon techno whilst his contributions to the electronic movement extend beyond performing and curatorship into music production, with releases on labels such as BCCO, HAYES, AWRY or BELUGA TRACKS.

In the half-decade he spent studying music technology and sound design in Leeds, UK, he developed and finessed as a sound artist. And after collaborations with various festivals and events such as Latitude, Leeds Festival, and SHHH_IFT, he established several new projects in Lisbon, including the OBRA, OCASO, cult party SUMMA, and techno label HAYES Collective.

Enkō is a regular at top-level venues and festivals in his homeland, namely Lux Frágil, Indústria, Outra Cena, Gare, Basilar Festival, Boom Festival, Freedom Festival, Forte Festival, Waking Life, Vinculum, Lisb-On, Timelapse, Aroma Cósmico and others.
