Mix number seven is from Zoë Mc Pherson, a cutting edge journey through contemporary electronic styles.

Zoë Mc Pherson is a producer, sound designer, live performer and DJ based in Berlin, whose new album States of Fugue is “Adventurous, freestyling Designer-Electronics in cut-up style”

As well as creating music for movement & sound enthusiasts, Mc Pherson is a multimedia artist interested in bridging the worlds of sound and visual art. In 2018, she released album/art project, String Figures, created with visual artist and director Alessandra Leone.

Both started new platform/label, SFX in 2020, focused on developing & releasing objects & experiences across various mediums, including an ongoing project called Xquisite Force, an AV collaborative thread involving amongst others : Forces, Ainissa V, ZULI, Sam Wiehl, Aylu, Petra Hermanova, Hulubalang, Constant Fernandez, Kaltès, Iamnatural, Patrick Defasten, Aho Ssan, Flore and many more yet to be revealed.

Performance highlights include Mutabor Moscow, De School Amsterdam, Krake festival Berlin, ZVUK Almaty, Schiev Beursschouwburg Brussels, Meakusma festival Eupen, Concrete Paris, Nottingham contemporary ; “Best experimental video” at Berlin music video awards, a “Vimeo Staff pick” ; screenings at the Australian Center for moving image, Melbourne ; an award for best 2019 electronic artist at Belgian ‘Octaves de la musique’.

Furtive is a full-gonzo rave conjurer and relentless creative tinkerer, intractably committed to the rave as a Philadelphia-based producer, DJ, underground event organizer, and dancer. A shifting sonic chameleon, Furtive brings a scintillating, sentimental, and psychedelic touch to their artistry, rooted in wormhole-traversing technoid propulsion and dependably delivering riotous, slack-jawed whiplash moments of the delightfully unexpected. Their many polished and focused genre-spanning productions are informed by over thirteen years of experience in the studio, yielding a rich selection of tracks across their self-released discography, vinyl pressings, and contributions to compilations. A veritable product of the contemporary American underground, Furtive cut their teeth as a DJ and DIY event organizer in Washington, DC’s warehouses, where they once played a variety of turnkey roles in putting on some of the District’s more proper techno parties. Furtive co-founded and co-runs Bounce House, an intimate, blossoming off-the-books venue in Philly where they regularly hold court as a resident. Furtive is on broadcast monthly through Ashen Vanity, a radio residency at Philadelphia’s indispensable cultural mainstay Great Circles. As a DJ, Furtive has played hallowed halls (recently rampaging at Nowadays and Basement), dingy holes, roaring renegades, broadcast booths, and festivals (The Great Beyond '23, '24, and headlining in '25, Honcho Campout '24) - always with eclectic selections and a steadfast focus on pacing and dynamics while regularly jumping genres to build moving and impactful sets, often alongside internationally celebrated, no-nonsense acts. Beyond the fog and speaker stacks, Furtive creates art in a variety of mediums. They're as unapologetic in their sincerity and flair as they are in being a die-hard True Believer in the rave.

I started mixing at 17 on Omnitronic belt decks and a primitive 80's nightclub mixer.
Just after, I produced lots of tracks with my Friend Kaop, with FruityLoppss and Electric Black Serie.

I  also found myself regularly running the first TECHNO SHOP in CAEN for a few years: COSMONOISE.

Opened by SEB, this shop quickly became a reference in the Underground productions for FREEPARTY & TEKNIVAL which were exploding in France.

Through his label KRYZALIDE, he launched the career of multiple artists who became pillars of this scene:
MAISSOUILLE, FLOXYTEK, BILLYX and many others...

After a period where I put my turntables away, 
I meet QEBRUS (thomas) who will change my life.

I discovered his totally extreme musical universe and his crazy sound design... Already recognized in the USA and in the eastern countries, he is quoted and played by artists like VENETIAN SNARES, APHEX TWINS, OTTO VON SCHIRACH, RICHARD DEVINE...

His last scene took place in the USA, in TEXAS in a festival where APHEX TWINS, BJORK, FLYING LOTUS...and many other artists played.
During this event, APHEX TWINS played several tracks of QEBRUS in a huge and massive 2 hours set.

Thomas already has an important career in the international intelligent dance music and glitch scene but in France, it is complicated for him to get dates and to spread his extra-terrestrial sound universe.

He asked me to become his agent for France, and there, I will live 2 years completely incredible, unique memories that Thomas offered me, who was a REAL friend.
..
And many other memories and incredible meetings (ADZ BOOKING, SPIRAL TRIBE, CAPSULE CORPS, SOMNIAC ONE, MANU LE MALIN...).

Unfortunately Thomas left us suddenly while he was preparing an album with OTTO VON SCHIRACH.

Following this tragic event, I decided to really get back into the mix with the aim of using music to heal pain through sound frequencies and to offer a moment of freedom, sharing and benevolence.
