Our journey of sounds continues through Europe making its way to France, home to one of our dearest friends and one of the most talented producers in the scene, Maxime Garnier, better known as MJOG (@mjog-915456058).

MJOG’s music straddles the line between minimal grooves and dub-infused house. Influenced by labels such as Oscillat, Taverna Tracks and Elephant Moon, his productions are powered by his signature drums, driving basslines, atmospheric pads and dubby chords.

His releases on labels such as Daydream Recordeep, Vaarious or House on Wax show his ability to combine a raw nineties texture with modular bleeps while always delivering a groovy and dubby sound.

With this podcast, we are also extremely proud to announce MJOG's first Chicago show on October 19 with Afriqua (@afriqua) hosted by the Body Response crew(https://www.residentadvisor.net/events/1325716). Make sure you don't miss this unique event if you are in town!

We bring to you this very, very special mix by one of our favorite producers who continues to push multiple boundaries with his releases - John Manhard (@technocruisemusic).

John Manhard is a young producer based in Southern California.  After finding a love for dance music while living in Melbourne he began to delve into music production and DJing.  After 6 years this passion has culminated in a releases over the last year including an LP on Pleasure in Mind Records.  With plenty of great releases out in the past couple of years, we highly recommend keeping a lookout from this rising talent.

Friends, we hope at a time like this you are staying at home and are healthy and safe. In the confines of your home, we wanted to present you with our latest mix featuring Flord King (@flordking) who has recorded a very, very special mix for us.

Surrounded by a deep spectrum of musical genres in his upbringing, Flord King has had a musical training from the start. Both as a listener and as a player, handling the guitar in different jazz ensembles. He was obsessed with the rhythm and story that music has the ability to tell. He slowly ventured into the world of electronic music and at the age of 20 began his career as a DJ.

Since then, Flord has gone from strength to strength, with the help of partner in crime Adam Stromstedt and Mohammed Al Harbiti they have launched the successful Lyssna Records label. With their platform they have pushed not only their own unique deep productions, but also other talented artists such as Peshka & Levi Verspeek.

Yet another duo feeding the Implicit Mind Cast this week with a deep and hypnotic 1.5-hour set. Despite its only one year existence, https://soundcloud.com/pressurereliefsystem has already made quite big steps. The two talented guys from Amsterdam are still growing fast and just had their first international gig in London. Playing at Syzygy, they shared the stage with names like Nu Zau, Suciu, Sepp, Cosmjn and many more. Aside from this, they are also busy organizing raves in Amsterdam. 

Their sound can be described as a mix of deep minimal with energetic peaks, balanced with hypnotic moments of rest. Enjoy listening to their musical vision in its purest form!

We have attended many of Tied's parties here in Chicago over the years and it is with absolute pleasure that we are able to host Max for our anniversary podcast in this very special Cosmic Jazz style mix.

Over the past several years, Max Jacobson has risen to the forefront of Chicago’s electronic music scene. From the city’s top clubs to its infamous underground spaces, a legion of fans has been electrified by Max’s unmistakable sound. Combining a love of classic house with the deepest edges of the techno vanguard, Max’s ear is tuned toward swirling, moody atmospherics and stripped down layered funk—all mixed with a slice of sex and the gentle caress of a soft, driving kick drum. His sets have the rare power to be all things to all people.

The list of Max’s accomplishments is impressive. He has played alongside a veritable who’s who of industry favorites: Raresh, Richie Hawtin, tINI, D’Julz, Rhadoo, and Delano Smith, among others. His adventurous tastes have landed him international bookings in Berlin, Ibiza, France, Mexico City, and beyond. Max also founded Tied, a party series and record label that anchors Chicago to its underground roots.

We are back this month with another episode of Distant bringing you a truly special and unique journey from a producer who is always looking to push boundaries and never afraid to step into the unknown - Stoi (@stoiplays).

Stoi, half of the brain behind Wazouru / SPUN pico festival and Continue Records representative, is very well known in the underground scene for his unreleased tracks and his movie-like soundtrack / score approach to minimal techno music. He put together a not so usual and truly unique set, titled “In My Mind”. In My Mind is a collection of tracks that inspired him through the years. A soundtrack to the dark layers and chasing the dragon, minus the the techno drums.

There are very few words that can describe this set so we will let you listen and experience this journey yourselves. Enjoy the trip!
