In celebration of both artists performing in London this month, Max Cooper is offering this wonderful remix of his dear friend Nils Frahm, who'll perform an electronic set on October 18 as part of The Hydra: Erased Tapes label night at the Village Underground.

In Max's own words:

'Nils Frahm is one of the best artists out there in my opinion, with pretty much the best live show I've ever seen. But aside from all that, this was just a really enjoyable remix to work on because the original is such a great piece of music, and seemingly so well suited to what I wanted to do with it - which was to try and turn Nils' instrumental jam on his Juno, into something house/techno/club/44 compatible, but still carrying the class and feeling of the original. It was one of those remixes that just seemed to fit and flow easily, with minimum strain and maximum enjoyment on my part - usually a good sign for a remix (the one's that have to be forced never seem to quite get there).

Not only is this one of the best remix projects I've been lucky enough to be involved with, it's also available totally free for you to download and share as you like, courtesy of Erased Tapes and Decibel festival where myself and Nils played last weekend, as well as XLR8R, who were good enough to first feature the 'For' remix.

And of course, it's also a thank you to YOU for listening an supporting my work over the years....thank you and I hope you like the track!....

Melodica’s head Chris Coco launches “My Summer Mixtape 2014”,his second annual selection of Balearic music for the summer season from artists on his Melodica label.
The compilation covers a broad range of genres, from Dub and Electronica, to Leftfield and Bass Music, from Drum N Bass to Nu Disco and puts together some of the label’s best artists and few Chris' good friends into this uplifting Balearic journey.
As a little taster Chris gave us this mega chilled track to give away.

Helix / Två Fontäner, like his previous release, Snow Sketch / Visions, is a 17+ minute slow burning exploration of ambience and rhythm.  Taking cues from the likes of Floating Points, Four Tet and Beacon, the tracks melt Tartaglione's specific brand of atmosphere with a well rounded beat.

Like the shape of it's namesake, Helix twists clanging melodic lines around a mess of white noise and a persistent backbeat.  The track eventually evolves to calm with a sidestick, allowing Två Fontäner's energetic intro and droning background to follow.

Helix / Två Fontäner is the first of a number of releases this year for Planète - who looks to solidify his status as one of Australia's most intriguing producers over the coming months.

AMVI is a new project by Saint-Petersburg-based composer Maxim Ananyev. With his former project Tree Bosier he passed across a dozen of genres, and never looked back willing to create a better version of something that was already made. As a result, Afisha magazine tried to find a specific niche for his music: “This is the case when “dreamy electronica” is not a cliché or just a mere name but kind of an attempt to define the actual genre”. 

Paysage is special for its acoustic instruments sound. It is so close in panorama as if someone plays it right here in front of you. All percussive aspects are clearly hearable, there are no reverberations, distortions or layers of effects. “This is electroacoustic music. I wanted to create as realistic and honest sound as possible”, explains artist. 

“I’m inspired by many things, but mostly visual ones”. It explains album’s name: just like a picture in a gallery – with many layers and details – Paysage invites to an attentive observation and diving into its sound landscape."
