The wait is over, we are thrilled to reveal the first release on Jane Musica! The track 'Tokniko' is brought to you by Mjane and David Garcet, released as part of an extended collection of remixes orchestrated by other well-respected music luminaries. This not only marks a big milestone in the label's history but the return of this dynamic DJ/producer duo. They are renowned for their punchy and vibrant energy, and this track definitely lives up to their unbelievable past music accomplishments. It has attracted the likes of K.E.E.N.E, Samer Soltan and The Timber Taal, who have all remixed it and also feature on this first release.

The original track was curated with the world's dancefloors in mind. Just like their previous tracks the duo has created an infectious beat which will have music fans around the globe moving their feet to. It definitely echoes previous releases recorded by the duo for Manual Music and Dantze but unfolds a different flavour in the pair's musical palette. The two have forged an impressive career in the industry as individual artists, both credited for their unforgettable vigour and energy. Together they convey in their music a distinctive but unique liveliness, making each track completely irresistible. Prepare yourself for an exhilarating groove with subtle oriental influences that are carried on a heavy beat formed by percussions, string harmonies and vocals. An alluring combination that creates an impeccable and tantalising ambiance.

K.E.E.N.E's remix further amplifies the track's catchy and contagious nature. Their signature style is clearly recognisable in the way that they have mixed the original track, with influences that they have attributed in their work previously. Layers of Tech House and Afro House are added to create a sort of tribal ritual effect, as well as a break in the track that will have music fanatics screaming for more.

The remix written by Samer Soltan offers a more progressive tone to the original track, a thrilling journey through melodies that evolve throughout, in addition to big harmonies and mesmerising sounds that completely envelop you as you listen through. The sort of music that keeps you dancing into the early hours of the morning, it instantly invigorates and energises. Samer Soltan's 'Into Yam' on Monaberry had greatly impressed us, we are honoured to have him join us on this first release.

The Timber Taal has created a version that highlights analog sounds represented by big synth reverberations, oscillators and resonances. These characteristics are significant to his music style, all of which he's mastered and perfected into this track to give it even more power than it already has. From the second the track begins you notice his heavy and hard-hitting musical panache. This remix will go down particularly well with underground music fans. An unbelievable start for this artist on the label, we are certain this will not be the last we speak of him.

Also remixed by the original track owner himself, David Garcet also lends his hand to adding more levels to his production. Aiming to create a much more serious ambiance in this rehashed version, with a groove that reminds us of old school underground sounds. Each resonance is carefully amplified, and has even more emphasis put on it to produce a much deeper and darker setting. The combination of these heavier elements is done in such a way that they flow and blend in seamlessly to ultimately generate a delicious bite of Deep Tech. If the original version wasn't good enough already then this certainly provides something utterly showstopping.

The entirety of this first release is nothing short of sensational. Each track conceals an exceptional sound and style created by an outstanding and esteemed group of artists which we are privileged to have join us on this new journey with our label.

Victor Valpuesta is a DJ, musician and passionate music professional based in Mexico City since 2016.

He has been involved in the Mexican music scene since 2017 as musical director for Otto Bar, music advisor for Dinsmoor Club, Supra Rooftop, and talent curator for Festival Vaivén and Festival De Frente.

His music project Valpy is powered by psychedelic beats, rippling synths, wonderful vibes from the retro future, and funky atmospheres that won't let you stop dancing.

He currently has a monthly residency at some of the best parties and underground venues in Mexico City such as M.N. ROY, Supra Rooftop and Dinsmoor Club.

Welcome to 2021: Darkroom Dubs crack open their 18th year with a warm welcome to two new members to the roster… Santiago producer Alejandro Paz and Berlin duo Local Suicide with ‘Directions’, complete with remixes from Undo, DJs Pareja and Velax.

Cold, cutting edge and boasting a full-spectrum of sounds, there’s a slight irony to dropping a release called ‘Directions’ when none of us know where the hell we’re going right now. But we sure as hell know what we’re listening to. And boy do we love it.

As proved on previous collaborations between the two acts on labels such as Nein and Aeon, Alejandro’s weighty production dynamics and Local Suicide’s purring noir soul complement each other to the very last transient. Part new romantic, part techno, all dancefloor; each track is a story just as much as it’s a song. ‘Directions’ captures the frustrations and intensity of isolated life in the 21st century and ‘Splish Splash’ takes a provocative, playful stance with its acid house bass plunges and cosmic squiggles.

It’s loaded with a full range of heavyweight remixes from a rollcall of exceptional talent: Undo gets a slinky bass guitar in the mix, DJs Pareja get wonky and bumpy while Velax fuses more grit and intensity in his special Isolated remix. The world may continue to spin backwards but we know where we’re heading… and it’s artists like Alejandro Paz and Local Suicide who are helping us get there. Take care of each other.
