When a deservedly hyped label like No.19 Music states that its biggest release is about to drop then a certain amount of attention is due and that’s exactly what the label’s 19th release, Tanner Ross’ ‘bSide EP’, deserves.

Despite having clocked up an impeccable discography that takes in collaborations with Soul Clap, Claude Vonstroke as well as output for Freerange, Mothership, Culprit and K7! this is Ross’ first solo release under his given name and is causing a enormous buzz via consistent plays from Art Department, Wolf + Lamb, Soul Clap, Crosstown Rebels main-man Damian Lazarus and more.

Adding to the two stunning originals, ‘bSide’ and ‘For You ft. Flo Night’, and pushing things into unmissable territory is a brilliant remix of the latter from Crosstown Rebels / Wolf & Lamb family member, Deniz Kurtel.

‘bSide’ itself is a mid-tempo, lazy groove which gently opens out with warm delayed vocals and creeping drums - hypnotic and subtle, it’s one hell of an intro but the drop into the fat, sumptuous bass hook is pure joy. Steadily joined by soaring, high-end keyboard licks that balance the track beautifully, there’s a sudden realisation the title of ‘bSide’ is a in-joke that’s being shared.

‘For You ft. Flo Night’ continues proceedings with a sexy, blissed out pace. Thudding, raw and mechanical disco drums underpin yet another rich, dominant Moog bass that oozes P, G and just about every other funk there is. Floating soundscapes, gloriously sliding top lines and Flo Night’s effected vox ebb and flow like liquid while a beat-perfect arrangement allows every element to truly sing which makes for a timeless slice of music.

Rounding things off is the prodigious talent that is Deniz Kurtel with her version of ‘For You ft. Flo Night’. Building from skittering percussive hits, dubbed-out vocals and spacious ambience into an incredibly catchy bassline, it’s a remix that unravels and combines melodies so impressively it begs repeated listens.

With a full length for Wolf & Lamb in progress plus collaborations with Deniz Kurtel and Soul Clap on the way, this is an essential piece of listening and one that celebrates a contemporary star….

Leftroom label boss Matt Tolfrey and Visionquest affiliate Ryan Crosson have partnered to present ‘Don’t Be Leftout’ an exceptional compilation of exclusive tracks and remixes. Matt who’s had recent success with his ‘Word Of Mouth’ LP gives us some insight into the collaboration – ‘Myself and Ryan are old friends, so we’ve planned to do something since he moved to London. The idea of spending time in the studio together mixing a compilation, and then having the chance to tour it just seems like an opportunity we couldn’t miss. Every track we’re putting on the compilation is an exclusive to the mix, including new tracks from Ryan solo and as part of his Sweatshops boys project, and lots of edits and remixes by myself and Ryan, so we’re making it as special as it can be.’

The compilation is well programmed, as you’d expect from Tolfrey and Crosson, and maintains a great level of energy from start to finish. Beginning with the deep and introspective ‘Your Smile’ and moving into foot stomping territory by the time we get to ‘Hypnosis’, the mix continues to unfold well and by the time we’re at ’1994′ we’re onto some serious jacking business. It’s hard to pick a personal favourite as every track is a winner and there’s something to satisfy the craving of any house head, however the Sweatshop Boys – ‘Wanna Be More’ stands out as a highlight in a superior selection.

Late May will see Madhouse Records release ‘Madhouse Ibiza 2016’, featuring material from Till Von Sein, La Fleur, Jammhot and many more.

The long running Madhouse Records imprint is still very much a driving force for underground house music over two decades since it’s launch in 1992. Recent months have seen head honcho Kerri Chandler make a welcome return with his collaboration and reworking of ‘Track 1’ alongside Troy Denari, as well as material
from Demarkus Lewis, Voyeur and Nacho Marco. Here though we see the label push on with a look towards the summer with the various artists compilation ‘Madhouse Ibiza 2016’.

As always with Madhouse the compilation treats us to an array of soul-laden and energy fuelled house music with some notable names like Till Von Sein, who opens the compilation with his smooth hypnotic number ‘Daze’ led by chiming marimba and wandering harp patterns. Watergate’s La Fleur takes things into
darker realms with ‘Vervain’ via chuggy bass hits, swirling vocal licks and murky atmospheric textures, while JammHot lays the focus on fluttering Rhodes, a snaking square wave bass hook and hooky vocal hits.

Further contributions comes from the likes of Kiko Navarro with a dub infused house workout, Sebb Junior laying down a New Jersey garage vibe and Stefano Esposito & Timmy P with a stab-led, groove driven classic house cut amongst many more. As always Madhouse delivers high quality house designed squarely
at the dance floor, this time round throwing a sun drenched feel to things for the upcoming Ibiza summer.

Following on from ‘The Owner’ released last year, NTEIBINT and Stella join forces once again to bring their elegant sound to Eskimo Recordings with ‘Hide In’. Mexican duo Zombies In Miami, also featuring with an original track on ‘The Yellow Collection’, provide a stellar remix.

NTEIBINT is the musical alter ego of Greek producer George Bakalakos. The gifted producer is known for lush, sonic soundscapes that are masterfully constructed taking the listener to new dimensions. George Bakalakos is also the host of a daily radio show on the Athenian radio station En Lefko 87.7.

Stella (née Stella Chronopoulou) is a pop singersongwriter and musician also based in Greece. Her debut album was released in February 2015 on Inner Ear. Acclaimed by listeners and critics alike, it became one of the most successful Greek indie albums of 2015.

NTEIBINT feat. Stella - Hide In (Zombies In Miami Remix)

Everything is just perfect for once. From the ambiguous band name to the cheeky album title and the ten productions at hand everything hits the mark and therewith satisfies the spirit of these times. 

The Black 80s come up with probably the best club album by far this year with „Heart To Art“. It's an album fully equipped with hits designed for the club but also proper songs you want to hear during your workout, in your car, to clean your kitchen to, and so on.

 „Russian Roulette“ , „And You Feel Something“ and „Trembling“ are three of the songs for example you'd don't want to play in the background for no particular reason. The basslines are too gripping, the vocals by Franck Julien aka Overnite too emphatic and the pressure set up by the tight productions is simply too assertive to resist. If Hollis P. Monroe wasn't making music for ages (first release in 1997 for Stickman Records), you could almost get the idea that someone internalized the sound of fellow Montreal based Kaytranada totally and intensified it for the club. 

The music of Monroe and Julien has precious little to do with the Eighties. Even “Daylight”, together with Hamburg based Yannick Labbé and Augsburg based Dominik Marz, with its perky synth bassline and the jaunty melody sounds much too much of now and here than of anything resembling something from yesteryear. The spoken word track “Where's The Money” is a masterpiece of reluctance and of a futuristic deepness current club music lacks most of the time. Only “Wake Up” breaks ranks within the ten album tracks. Almost like a summer anthem-like riddim from Jamaica the tune is the most merry of the oeuvre. “Heart To Art” is one of these unusual albums transporting its very own distinctive sound and a incomparable aesthetic. 

Something you hear rarely, but outmost willingly.
